  1. 420 (trail) blaze it!
  2. Loved it out there on Saturday, just keep an eye out for these on Ribbok Extended :
  3. Trying out some of that old 26er vibes on the route home.
  4. Bills on Bottelary...
  5. Loved it today.
  6. Well, I suppose if by few in the term "Few 100 meters" you meant 26.1 = few. Then yes, you are spot on, it is 26.1 x 100 meters.
  7. The sand is ridable, never had issues with it.
  8. There were rumors that the N7 was no longer an option after this years 99er? Were they unfounded?
  9. Traded the GT Ruckus for this lovely 2004 Kona, it's actually for the wife but I first wanted to put it through it's paces on the commute home. Some work required (wheels buckled, drive train is worn) but I'm pretty impressed.
  10. Decided to get in touch with my roadie side today...
  11. With the minibus taxis providing extra obstacles for cars and me on the MTB ready to jump sidewalks it is easy to race cars in morning traffic.
  12. I quite like that idea of racing cars. Entering Stellenbosch on the R44 and taking the Helshoogte turn off I have a look out for some marker cars. More often than not after I rejoin the R44 past the schools I have these cars pass me. So I was in the lead for a while.
  13. Saw a girl in front of me shoot an epic snot rocket while we were climbing. Not sure why but it was kind of a turn on for me. Just me?
  14. ^^^Best advice yet !!! Seeing as I only ride with a chain breaker I would surely tried to stop any puncture with a tampon should one occurred.
  15. Home, with a yellow box of Lil-lets taped to the seat tube, because when the wife ask you to bring something home you'd better listen
  16. There were quite a few out on the trails, however no new pics on their facebook page.
  17. Forgot to mention, the wind was extremely helpful up that last murderous climb at Hooggelegen, they mockingly say it's only 10km to go at the waterpoint below it... Oh, the waterpoints seemed very well stocked, I managed to make it to the last one before I ran out of water and they were quick to fill me up with Powerade with some of them yummy fancy Italian chocolates on hand, I think it is pronounced "Baróné" ? My only gripe, again, is the few places where I had to stop because people with cleats could not ride a section. As I said before on trails like these you are better off with flat pedals and the extra agility they offer. Especially that section of grass between the vineyards at the start and the one bit where you ride up over the rock on Cobra going down. Also a few of the hairpins in the climbs. But ja, no one listens to me whine anyway... Obviously I will be back next year
  18. Y'all roadie folks survived with that breeze? Man, what an awesome ride this was, same route as last year but I did ride a little better. Loved it. The wind was perfect, blew the dust away and kept me cool. My bike now has 20,000km on in the 27 months I had it.
