  1. Yesterday, going home. When it was still dry.
  2. I'm still too young to ride an old mans bike, been riding hardtail since forever
  3. No single track, district gravel roads, however the klimb out of Wuppertal makes it unsuitable for gravel bikes and a proper MTB is recommended. But from what I can gather it is nothing technical. Yes it goes past Algeria on the way back to Clanwilliam.
  4. and I use my K2C as seeding for CTCT. But I guess K2C will then seed me on my previous 7 times.
  5. The worst I have had thus far was the 2nd/last/2013 Schapenberg MTB. Boet, it was so bad they cancelled the long/30km and we all rode the 17km in a massive storm. Having survived that I vowed to never bail because of weather. I will however take some towels and extra clothes with seeing as I'm going on my own and not with my dad in his Hilux as per usual. Don't want to muddy the beautiful French leather interior of my coupe.
  6. Luuks manne! I'm just waiting for pay day then I'm entering. Accommodation has been booked months ago already
  7. This is still the Cederberg 100 miler event, but with a new route starting and ending in Clanwilliam as opposed to the previous 4 that went from Clanwilliam to Kaleo.
  8. I opted for Riebeeck Kasteel. They already found the trails and marked it - no seeking needed Edit : I'll never do a Nissan event ever again after my first one.
  9. First time I did this route was 2016 and it was pretty wet back then, rained early in the week. I can only imagine what it will be like in the rain. Hier kom 'n pakslae
  10. I don't mind the mud, no matter how dry it has been in previous years there will always be mud on Backberg. Even doing the Twilight rides in December I recall there being mud However I stand by what I said last year and that is unless they revert back to the 2015 router I am not doing this ride again. The new route is just so boring...
  11. Definitely doing this one!
  12. From what I see on Strava it was the boring version. Quite glad I opted for another event on Saturday and skipped this one.
  13. Looks like it's gonna be a cold and wet one.
  14. Excellent ride, loved the climb and the view from the top. Middle bit gave me flashbacks of Amarider and the last bit was just nice and scenic. I did the 60km and managed to finish in under 3 hours. Well done to the organisers and everyone involved. Brought some wine at the cellar that will definitely be enjoyed.
  15. Up a little hill.
  16. Yep, same route, same bike. Guess it's a combination of getting older and fatter.
  17. My results for this one has been going down the tubes over the last 3 years 2016 : 03:05:29 2017 : 03:09:31 2018 : 03:22:32
  18. What a perfect day and a perfect ride. Very well organised, excellent wine for sale at the end, route was marked and marshaled as best as I have seen. This is why I keep coming back every year, it is such a pleasure to ride.
  19. Through the river, not over the waterfall.
  20. Slow one at the foot of Stellenbosch mountain.
  21. For sure! Anyone else remember 2014? It was almost as wet as 2013 but they still went up and had two tractors with a cable between them on both sides of the river above the waterfall. That current was nice and cold and strong. This ride always has something memorable about it.
  22. Here you go : https://nofile.io/f/tFXGd0to5NA/Wolseley_MTB.gpx
  23. 1300m : https://www.strava.com/activities/1129351953
  24. However if your bike does not have lights they can fine you.
  25. 2nd time doing this one, something different and in perfect weather like today a real treat.
