  1. Eina! that sounds very nasty. Best of luck with getting back on the bike again. Today I can sort of sit on my left bum cheek again, still badly bruised. Bike shop called earlier and said the rear rim if cracked, but still I feel my outcome from all of this very good considering what went down (pun intended). If you guys enjoyed this ride then be sure to try out the Cederberg 100 miler. They have changed the route and the start and end will now be in Clanwilliam.
  2. I had a crank bail on me like that on the Koringberg ride once, could go about 8k then had to stop and find a rock with which to bash it on again. Almost did that yesterday with the wheel but in the end kicking it did the trick.
  3. Brilliant! Perfect weather and finally I managed to do a sub 8 hours 160 miler. I previously did this in 2016 and under estimated it completely. Had a nasty OTB shortly after 100km cause by a deep section of loose gravel in the middle of the road after a cattle grid. On it's own that would have been fine, but I really feel bad for the guys that piled up on me. Sorry for that and I hope you all are doing OK. I really wish that did not happen, so please accept my sincerest apologies. Thanks for the rest of the group that stopped to assist. You guys are awesome. Luckily I could ride away and finish with a few nasty scars, wrecked ego and buckled rear wheel rubbing the frame. Can't wait for next year
  4. Entered, quite keen to see how this goes.
  5. My training for this was Cederberg 100 miler, and judging by that performance tomorrow is gonna be long and hard.... mielie af trap tyd! Edit : GPX as request : http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=90119149579037944712
  6. bagged me a 70km ride entry at R220
  7. Excellent! In it for my 8th one
  8. I think I passed you at the dam at the bottom of the Fish Eagle trail. That is a regular occurrence and most riders on Bottelary Hills are well aware of the Carinus' shooting range
  9. We had some rain recently, actually some green around, something not present two months ago. Good the be back on Bottelary
  10. Sounds cool to me, I'm in! Always wanted to see those parts. I recall way back there were talks of a TransCeder that was about 193km and dubbed "the widow maker", included some of those parts.
  11. Fun fact, this route has the same total ascent as a TransKaroo (defunct) up ride, only it packs it into shorter router in much more concentrated dosages Another fun fact, Pieter came up with both routes. He's a legend when it comes to long distance rides like that.
  12. 10 I'll be back for my 5th one next year.
  13. You had a good jog going when you came in. I also had to run the last bit on the lawn with my broken derailleur cable.
  14. Entered. After this weekend's Cederberg 100 miler I'm keen for another.
  15. Excellent ride! Spent the last 70km with the 2nd lady finisher and we kept a good pace. My shifter cable snapped with 15km to go so from there on it was long and heavy strokes for me. Sent from my TA-1024 using Tapatalk
  16. Across the Cederberg yesterday. Sent from my TA-1024 using Tapatalk
  17. We are getting a bit of rain Wednesday and on the weekend.
  18. Saturday's sweet sandy seventy five.
  19. I checked the weather, it's gonna be a wet one Sunday.
  20. Such a Fine place to be.
  21. When you finally sort out that one creak in the bike and it all just rides as smooth as butter... take it for a sweet ride on a perfect day.
  22. Nice, top of Devon Valley road.
  23. Start cards are useless. Glad they finally realised that. I did not even have one for the 2nd lap (paid for last year) and neither did they ask for it.
