I also hope the organizers are watching this and hopefully keep note....!!!! One of the most expensive race days and as you guys mentioned a few times, the loo's were terrible. The marshaling on route was almost non existent, so bad that even team Bonitas, Abantu and others were also complaining. So bad that at some point there was no indication of which road to take??? wtf No marshal bikes (something one would expect for such an expensive event) No paint markings or any indication for dangerous road surface This event was badly put together.

I've only heard good things so I'm quite keen to give it a try. As the mileage increase, the more my cheeks moan. So I trust the new Assos gear will keep the cheeks happy

I had the urge to try out some new gear as I think most of us started off with First Ascent, and then maybe some Panda, and possibly some F-Tech etc. Always wanted to try out Assos as most guys and girls rant and rave about the product. So I took the plunge yesterday after doing a bit of price checks here and there and went to Bikewear in PTA. Amazingly friendly bunch of guys with probably the widest range of Assos gear. So now I'm all kitted in Assos and can't wait for the weekend's long rides

I hate riding in the wind at the best of times, but you won't be able to choose the weather on race day so you might as well get used to riding in the wind. Just see it as additional resistance trianing, and remember to keep your mouth closed for any flying foreign objects in those strong gusts of wind...

Good luck to everybody riding the Carousel this year At least it seems as if you will have a dry race, however if the weather today is anything to go by, those open roads are gonna be windy

Yes, the event start from the end of the parking lot and finishes in front of the main gate (taking things from last year). Your family receives free access to Sun City and the Valley for the day and you would park at the normal day visitor parking.

I use the Parktoolz biodegradable chain cleaner/degreaser. If i know where to find more of this stuff separate to the chain cleaning tool, I'll buy large quantities. This stuff is awesome!!

I'll keep tabs on this conversation... currently in the market to have my bikes insured with a good and cost effective company
