Get the Cyclist Guide at Sportmans Warehouse... The book costs R180 and it gives you all the info on all (or at least 98%) of both MTB & Road races.

There are pretty much 3 tiers of membership involved in the whole racing licence thing... 1. CSA (membership fee applies) 2. Provincial, such as CG (Central Gauteng) cycling (membership applies) 3. Club fees (whatever your annual club fees are) And then it's still R350 for your licence itself. The whole thing is R500 per annum

I'm in the market myself for some carbon wheels and have my eyes on the 38mm Dark Horse wheels. I hate riding in the wind at the best of times, so those ones should be perfect for me. I borrowed a set of 50mm some while back from a friend, and although the ride wasn't all bad... i could still feel the wheels drifting in the wind... I'll be much more comfortable on the 38's

My biggest dream was to ride with my dad and we still said that the 94.7 this year was the year that we would ride together. Also just to mention i'm a guy. He was a cycist his whole life and extremely fit, however he had a heart attack a few years back and had to go for a heart bypass. This of course scared him from getting back onto the bike and he started keeping himself busy with other hobbies and stuff but slowly got back into cycling... this is when i said i'd ride with him (never having cycled before myself) so i started cycling towards the end of last year. He sadly passed away last year November, but i kept on cycling and started doing well.... and still rode the 94.7 in memory of him. I managed to come in at 2h:28m. The picture shows my kit that i had made for the day... this will now be framed. Hayleyearth I'm interested to know what your dad's name is as my dad was also very involved in road and track racing around the 70's/80's

I wish i could be offered all kinds of team packages... would be awesome to ride in a team rather than taking on each race as a solo guy I'm more than willing to share some race results

How is it then that one will work and another didn't? I also ride with my canister of direct stream pepper spray, but thankfully never had to use it yet. I did pull it out once for an agro taxi driver than opened his door with a srew driver in the hand... but he got back in the taxi an spat off when he saw i had something in my hand. I've read somewhere on the hub about this direct stream one and how affective it is, hence i got one
