  1. It's pretty easy to already be at 5kg's with(out) a worldtour budget. I reckon pro's would still use what works for them, also considering most are not weight weenies. I also think even a 5kg weight limit is daft. They should rather implement some sort of technical safety limit based on proper engineering standards. The weight limit was introduced as a safety thing.
  2. Ahem... We on the east are a proud people. We would never say we live in johannesburg.
  3. Nope. I see now I don't think I read properly.
  4. My R60k 6.8kg bike disagrees with you. (agree with the rim brake comment though. You wont get a under R100k light disc bike I reckon)
  5. That's weird. I drive across municipal/metro borders for work, and simply to get from home to the office, and I don't need a permit or a letter or a leopard print g-string, or anything fancy. Edit: Even during the 3 hour limit and zone of death for training, I crossed metro borders on my bicycle with no issues.
  6. AN 124 from Volga Dnepr, parked at OR Tambo. Flew in from Sri Lanka on the 18th.
  7. I had to go see this bad boy up close yesterday.
  8. With your reaction, I wonder if you are the pot or the kettle in this equation.
  9. Holy ancient thread, Batman.
  10. In the old days I would have said years. This new hub, I dunno, maybe another half a page?
  11. Try this guy: https://drharrysportsurgery.co.za/#contact He can make one leg longer, or the other one shorter for you.
  12. I wouldn't go that far.
  13. You reckon you need more cash to start absorbing spills? I agree that R4k will simply repel any liquid if it's in credit card format, but in R10 notes it should be pretty absorbent?
  14. Read the article on the wheels. It used the phrase "free speed"...
  15. So, have you decided on what new crankset you will treat yourself to?
  16. I just checked. At full lock to the right, the caliper will indeed hit the downtube. My question would be why is this happening so much to the OP that it is an issue. To that end though, why not simply one of those little stick on silicon dots that you get with most chainstay protector sets that you normally use on the headtube to stop gear or brake cable rub?
  17. Amongst all this talk of what's good, and right, and legal, has anyone been arrested/fined/sent to the naughty corner/whatever for riding in a group or not wearing a mask? Further to that, is there any (even anecdotal) evidence of anyone getting infected with corona by a group on a bike ride, in SA or anywhere in the world?
  18. Like the frame? Is the paint/clear-coat that much different to a car? Do you do the same with your car? The same for all the folks using sunlight soap all over. Do you do that with your car?
  19. Yes. But only during winter. The fact of warming and humidifying the air I breath in has for many, many years been beneficial. I'm not gonna let some bat virus stop me. (beneficial to me - I'm doubtful about the efficacy of a mask for prevention of spread of anything both pre-covid and post-covid)
  20. That graphic is posted by the WHO official facebook account.
  21. I googled the image you posted. Like any normal human. It was on a facesapce page.
  22. Did you ever get flu from riding in a group?
  23. The only thing I got off that fb page, is why was everyone's "virtual comrades" so much less distance than the actual Comrades marathon?
  24. I find diesel is the actual best, but I only have petrol cars at the moment.
