  1. You see his power numbers? 311W normalized for 5 plus hours... not to shabby for a day on the bike 😲
  2. No idea, I didn't really take much notice. They're all pretty much generically branded anyway. The tubes are orange with black valves and come in a little blue box. They actually look pretty decent, I can't really see any difference between them and the R450 ones from a LBS. They do warn you however that you shouldn't inflate them above 5bar but I run 28C tires and don't go higher than that anyway.
  3. I've bought quite a few things from Temu and will continue to do so until such a time they start charging for shipping. Latest order had a few TPU tubes at R86 each (lets hope they don't let go going down Baainskloof), a couple of bike tools, deraillure hanger extenders and some MTB Spur grip type bars ends that worked so well at the 361 Half that I bought sets for my gravel bike and dual as well.
  4. I'm in as well. Now to watch the weather forecast intensely for the next 9 days and hope another cold front doesn't batter us that weekend #gatvolofwinter
  5. Or you can just do what @Zebra did at Eroica last year.... ride casually past a mate and mention very politely that he could see what he had for breakfast through the back of his shorts 😄
  6. My steel Ti Raleigh in Reynolds 753 tubing is sub 9kgs as well 😄 Gotta love the marketing machine.
  7. I'm keen to enter but with the weather being so unpredictable I'm a little unsure whether I should use my hardtail or the gravel bike. I see the entry portal wants you to specify whether you're entering as an "Individual" or a "Gravel bike". That a rather an unusual option to have to chose from and doesn't leave you with much wiggle room on the day 🙄 Guess it won't matter much either way for a mid packer.
  8. Generally when your chamois cream starts oozing through your shorts and starts frothing around your naught then it's time to replace them 😉
  9. I've done this before. The incident happened just before Worcester coming towards CT. The guy overtook 5 vehicles on a blind rise. I was the 2nd car in the queue and as he got next to me he realized he wasn't going to make it and came into my lane, forcing me to take evasive action and swerve left. I had my two girls in the back seat and the red mist descend. The traffic was so congested that he was never more than a few vehicles ahead of me until I saw him pull into the big One Stop on the other side of Worcester. I followed him into the One Stop and found him in the queue at Vida. A big oke about a head taller than me but I was beyond caring. What I said to him cannot be repeated here but he and everyone else in that One Stop understood exactly how I felt about his mothers Porche. My outburst caught him so by surprise that he never even retaliated but simply apologized for his poor driving. His excuse.... "My wife needed the bathroom really badly" Frikkin idiot, I'm sommer worked up all over again just telling the story and lus to moer him... pity he was so big 😊 Hopefully he thinks twice before doing that again.
  10. Insanely good value for money bike that will run with any modern carbon bike.
  11. Maybe try David Mercer in CT then 👍
  12. Gees, so much for factory QA 🙄 I'm guessing facing it might sort it out but what if it doesn't? Are they then going to blame you for doing it incorrectly and refuse to replace it?
  13. RIP Tim, a scholar and a gentleman, the world is a poorer place without you in it 😔
  14. Very sad news, Tim fought the dreaded disease so bravely. It's been a bad week in the Cape, we lost Andrew Stam as well on Tues, another local legend 😪
  15. On the circumference question.... google it or make a mark on your tire and the floor, roll it a full turn and make another mark where it ends. Measure the distance it traveled to get the circumference.
  16. I use a through axle on mine so can't comment on the skewer you're using but there should be no lateral movement otherwise you'll struggle to get your gears to index correctly and it will throw the chain. It sounds like you've got the spacers wrong.
  17. I do that once a year as well @MongooseMan 🤙 Oasis is the perfect base for a training camp. Cheap accommodation, great food and a beautiful area to ride a bike (both mtb & motorcycle)
  18. Here's a link to My Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1j8i1VnL2FIAHf0cHGkx9kbMPTYGMOx0&usp=sharing Don't let the distances fool you, there's some big climbs in there. If you're using a Gravel bike, make sure to change your gear ratios at the rear. I was running an old school triple up front and used granny a lot. This was my & my wife's setup for this route. She was on an ebike.
  19. If you want to challenge yourself then try this route, we did it earlier in the year. Start at Oasis Backpackers (they have camping options and great food and you can safely leave your vehicle there). Day 1 - Oasis to Mertonhof Guest farm in the Bieudow Valley via Eselbank & Wuppertal Day 2 - Mertonhof to Jamaka Farm via Pakhuis Pass & Clanwilliam Day 3 - Jamaka back to Oasis Some monster climbs and incredible views. We did it as a 4 day trip and spent a day at Jamaka chilling out.
  20. Simply gorgeous frames @Furbz, all the best with your sales 🤙
  21. There's a few different Cederberg Loops, which one do you want to try? Winter is obviously risky, if you hit weather like we had a week ago you'll be going nowhere due to flooded roads.
  22. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other... I had the same dilemma last year and went for the Elite Suito because there was a stock shortage of the Kickr Core at the time. I haven't regretted it yet, the trainer works great 🤙
  23. such a great photo 🫡
  24. You should ask them 🤙
  25. UAE certainly won't be making too many friends if that's the case. The other teams also want a piece of the pie for their own sponsors.
