  1. It's effectively the same motor, just slightly down-tuned to give you better battery life.
  2. Nice, it will be interesting to see how the price compares to the Orbea Rise that runs the same EP8 motor.
  3. It's spelled as "Khayamandi". The place where the most cyclists mugging happen in the Cape and we are encouraged to go and support an event happening there. Yeah, good luck with that 🤙
  4. That's a really silly post by Chris and rather unexpected from him. All it does is give drivers a chance to validate their own reckless behavior on the road. Any one of us can sit at any intersection, any day of the week and take photos of drivers of cars & taxi's doing stupid **** as well. We need to be teaching tolerance rather than laying blame on individual parties. We're all to blame, including local and provincial government for our poor infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists.
  5. Our Vintage Bike Ride to Franschoek yesterday. The guys brought out the good stuff for a great ride in perfect weather. Bootleggers and Louer un Velo (new bicycle rental company in FH) were kind enough to sponsor our coffee for the day and a breakfast on the house for rider with the neatest bike of the day 🤙
  6. Stepped ferrules are common on most older bikes, your LBS should be able to assist you.
  7. Top of Devonvalley looking towards Stellenbosch / Gordons Bay... sadly the Cape is burning and you can see the smog hanging heavy in the morning air.
  8. It's the nature of the beast that is cycling, or most sports for that matter. You're going to get hurt, sooner or later... sometimes repeatedly and sometime due to nothing you did wrong but rather what the chop next to you did or the animal running across your path did. If you love the sport enough, you suck it up and move on. The 3-6 months of healing every few years is totally worth the multiple years of pure enjoyment you're going to get by riding your bike... fast 😉
  9. When your day starts like this, it can only be awesome 😁 Die Kaap bly maar lekker 🤙
  10. Certainly looks like a pursuit frame and no, that fork isn't original. Would be interesting to get Duncan's take on it.
  11. It's a quick and easy job for any mechanic and should be fairly inexpensive. The BB & headset doesn't need to be removed in this instance.
  12. Why not build the 105 groupset over to the TCR?
  13. Bottelary Hills on the MTB this morning... simply sublime 🤙
  14. Mine got broken in this morning as well 🤙
  15. Well done, that's very impressive for someone with zero frame building experience 🤙
  16. Sadly not as much as one would hope for as the parts and tubing aren't top spec on the old Rapports. Once cleaned up and if it has no major rust, you'll probably get between R2000-R3000 for it.
  17. I wasn't aware there was a Gravel "season" in SA. Surely if we race XCM all year around then we can race Gravel all year around? Case in point being Attakwas which was the WC's first XCM race of the year.
  18. 19. Not sure the WP is continuing with it this year. I was hoping to race it as an age grouper but no dates have been released yet despite the dates for the XCO and XCM being made public.
  20. This is just more proof that syndicates are involved in the bike jackings and theft.
  21. Out on the MTB in Bottelary Hills this morning
  22. The lifetime guarantee on the frame was also attractive to me, I seem to make a habit of cracking mtb frames 🤙
  23. If that's your price range, maybe consider the Orbea H30 from CWC's, they had them on a special a little while back. I've been very happy with mine so far and I've had it just over a year now 🤙
  24. Congrats to all those who finished the race in those conditions. This race would be tough on a perfect day, add in the weather and you have an extreme event. Kudos galore 🤙
