  1. Hey Hubbers I take it all back - holycamoly - and its not even November yet. Guess What?? I got my licence card this morning, and it was 2 months early (compared to last year anyway)!! Not to shabby hey. Paid for last December and delivered just before renewal time - Fantastic! Not quite as fast and efficient as this countries Home Affairs Department, but things are looking up. To all of you who dont have your cards yet - Naah nah nah naah! Happy Cycling!!
  2. Join the club. I have an email with a reference number from them. Ask where my licence is and they tell me they have no record of me. Same thing last year, and then all of a sudden my card arrives in November. Hahaha! Circus South Africa is a money making scam
  3. I would go with suggestion. Had similar problem. Oh and thank goodness it was Campy, cos if it was Shimano it would have changed gear at all - hahhahaha!!
  4. Tried a couple but Squirt is still the best for me! Use it on Road Bike and Mountain Bike.
  5. I dont want to be a prophet of doom, but I couldnt find the "creak" on my bike and it ended up being a crack on the rear stay. It was not easy to see. Check it out carefully especially where your rear disk brake connects to frame. Or if its a road bike then check whole rear stay for hairline cracks.
  6. I was also experiencing very slow updates. WAS VERY FRUSTRATING!! I reloaded/downloaded IE8 again, and all my problems vanished. Dont ask me how, why or when things went wrong, but now a pleasure to be back on The Hub.
  7. Not sure if Im not looking or reading properly, but I have followed instruction for password problem, and completed whats been requested. This automatically logs me in to "The Hub", however if I want to log in again , on another PC, I cannot find the 'Log In ' button. Am I being DOFF - hahaha?
  8. Hey Guys and Gals Only 4 days to the soccer world cup and then apparently we will all be safe. Our Minister of Safety and Security has guaranteed all visitors there safety, so as citizens of this country we should be really well protected - hahaha - LOL! Of course it will be 10 x worse after the WC. We can only hope and Pray and Pray and Pray. Keep safe out there!!
  9. I have the Polar settings on Low Volume Option, and then in my audio setup and under microphones I have a Boost Mic option. I ticked this box and I have never had a problem since. The watch or polar unit does need to be pretty close to the mic and it does help if there is not a hectic amount of background noise. Good Luck
  10. Boeloes, with respect to your comments and I understand your point of view, but if you dont mind me asking why is the electronic timing so important to you? Im asking, cos I know alot of riders who are not concerned about their time, but more about position!mrm67122010-05-04 12:21:16
  11. Those legs dont feel the hills - so stop talking nonsense - hahahaha! Glad you enjoyed it, but I do remember warning you!!
  12. Thats just the way it is - hahaha! Sometimes you get charged this fee and sometimes not! Its almost like a handling fee - depends on shipper and or clearing agent. Can you not bring the bike in as bits and pieces, cos then there are no import duties on seperate parts ie. bike spares.
  13. I can understand a longer cage derailleur, but excuse my ignorance, why would you require a new chain?
  14. Hahaha! Thanks wisecrack! Thought some advise might be come from you!
  15. Heard about the story this morning. Considering the police seem to be protecting the "very guilty" driver, something doesnt seem right here. Probably an off duty police officer!! Who had a good party the night before!!! Hmmmmm!!
  16. Hmmm, difficult one. If its Shimano 105 9 speed it might be a bit older than you think. But my guestimate would be R3k - R3.5k.
  17. Thats why Im asking , cos also not sure -
  18. Are we talking Road Racer or MTB Racer? Huge difference - LOL!!
  19. I hope this is not a brand new Bi%$#&i bike?? Oops nearly mentioned the much hidden name of the manufacturer. Perhaps you should have photoshopped it and changed the colour as well - hahahaha!!
  20. I dont know myself but Ive heard rumours of between R10k - R15k a month excluding endorsements. Its a rumour!!
  21. The Silverback Saturn is replacing, or has replaced, the Alpine. I have heard that its pretty good value for money. Not sure of different specs for all the bikes, but if price not issue then compare the specs, and go for best specced bike.
  22. I like it a lot. However if i had the money, I might like one with Campy. Cant say the extra couple of 100grams for Campy would make any difference to my riding - hahaha. NICE!!!!!
  23. I can try help from what Ive read and what Ive been told. What ever the new price is today, will be replacement value. Basically from what I understand the second hand bike market is like the vehicle market. Basic rule of thumb - first year road bike loses 30% and MTB aprox 40% of original purchase value, and there after 10% per year. So if this bike was R30k three years ago i.e. 2007 2008 Then R30k less 30% = R21k 2009 less 10% = R18,9k 2010 less 10% = R17k Just a guideline and my 2c worth.
