  1. All my Dublin club members knew and ask about 'the big sportive in CT', never used 'the Argus' as people would here in SA
  2. ditto. A ride like this morning place the mind in a very good state. Cant say in words how much the tracks are appreciated!
  3. yes. There is a link on the front page of the website. Paid yesterday 16:00 and got them emailed by 18:00. Quality is much better than what the very very small thumbnails appear.
  4. Damn, I might be to slow to be in the first 100. Will even buy my own beer for the opportunity to throw in a chirp
  5.    edit - double post
  6. Mulmi, I see now you are also from CT. Where do you get the hens from? - I want to use an old aviary as a starting point here..
  7. I think ~1 inch square 'sparre' with edges rounded. I could go and dig out my animal husbandry study notes of 20 years ago, but googled rather now. Seems it is indeed the right forum to ask the question... "The hens are voting with their feet - the bike inner tube provides the most comfortable perch." Seems the url builder is broken so I just paste it here: http://www.yourchickens.co.uk/care-and-advice/the_perfect_perch_1_2842822
  8. Hi Rikus Its my helmet. There is probably a first time for everything. .. I realised I lost it when the sun started to hurt my bles. It could only have been left behind when I helped a guy that crashed in front of me. Can you please pm me your number or I will pm mine. Didnt realised I look that old
  9. I spend the last 6 hours in heaven. Unfortunately all of that was fighting Gabriel the entire time. Blisters on my hands. Was smiling all the time though
  10. Harryn, thanks for last night. That route was captured pre-Strava on an old Nokia E52, and I can see that the quality: Zig-zag under trees etc. Sudden changes in elevation that is more drastic than reality. (Clifton where I know the ride quite well was the same 2 weeks ago) I was a bit naïve to think that real life stoppages at traffic lights would be detected. Had a bit of time on the bike and wondering if I could write something that smooth the experience, but as usual - there is already products for that. (See urls below) I will play a bit with it before I send you files. (They don't mention the real life stoppages) http://www.zysman.ca/biking/smoother/gpxsmoother.html http://www.lunicus.org/tacx/GPXsmoother.htm
  11. Seems I should be getting worried about the 63.... Maybe spot some flowers Sunday on the way back via Hopefield/Darling.
  12. Any way we can get access on anonymised data to represent it spatially?
  13. It might seem so Harryn, but that first 15 I was gritting my teeth staying with you. Was giving it all & must be the hardest I trained indoors ever. Pretty cool to ride roads that I last rode on 20 years ago. (They seems steeper now ) I extracted some old mid week 25-35km rides from my Endomondo account. I did not ride them on the Tacx yet, but can send them on if you want them.
  14. That is the only thing that I'm scratching my head about. (I'm glad that DI is able to ride and although the reasons supplied is unlikely, it is still possible. I accept that. ) My feeling is more a 'sigh, what was he thinking' :trying to capsule his own chemicals. Surely that is risky, even more if I look at the missus's bottle of bicarbonate of soda, its source information & packaging quality. I would not trust it if my income depend on it. Hence my question if it is standard practise, do OGE doctors have a quality source and recommend it to its riders? If they do, surely the team doctor should handle this sort of task to ensure quality?
  15. My first response is that you wont see me on a MTB tandem. (but then I cant comment if I did not tried it...) - Don't think I can handle it and then to find a willing stoker...
  16. Recommended. Only thing to make sure is that you prefer more or less the same cadence. Its never like both like it, but we were/are close. The rest is easy to sort out with communication/agreements. Borrow one and try it in a quite area first.
  17. Honest question to the people that know the pros - is diy capsuled baking soda regularly used? Does it work? Seems Livestrong recommended it dissolved in water though. Interesting to see the warning regarding its use and doping as well: http://www.livestron...r-sore-muscles/
  18. It appear that my 29er wheels should start to turn backwards when it notice a dead stop ahead
