  1. What I do now is go back up on the green to the pine trees, then left on the green to purple (you can add the shorter pine ST loop that exit back onto purple) then follow purple to yellow/red back to the bottom of the new blue. That cut the 'keien' sections out

  3. They suck at software development if they cant add a 're-assign' algorithm for less than what 10 chips cost. There must be many dormant chips that can be donated to youth projects.
  4. Finished at 6 on the hour together with another single rider that I met on Bergplaas. Became good friends quickly Weird to hear the 'hane kraai' in the morning while still riding. What played with my mind was the Jaybay lights that I had seen from #7 was gone after 5am. So you felt like 30km away from a town. To see the mall when entering the roundabout was a pleasant surprise. well done to the quicker people. Respect...

  6. Ok, seems the additional T1946/110V sticker on it is an indictor of the issue. Another motor swap by courier in progress... (thanks Coolheat).... touch wood, might be joining you next week then.
  7. Hi, got a replacement motor from Coolheat/Tacx. - I must say very approachable people that know their stuff. But... a new issue though that I would like to describe in two parts: a) During calibration it keeps on telling me I have to much pressure between the tyre and motor brake. That should be easy to resolve by turning the adjuster - but I run out of enough thread to pull it away further from the wheel. The only way I can get the calibration right is to reduce the tyre pressure to 1 Bar. Now my experience with my previous motor was short-lived - but the calibration was easy and I'm pretty sure that the visual 'bulge' of the tyre against the motor was a LOT more than what I see now. Its almost as if the motor is a lot more sensitive to pressure. b) I follow the setup video to a T - but cant get the motor brake away from the tyre in the 'engage' position. (I ran out of thread) And it still touch the tyre 'softly' from my perspective, but still giving the high pressure warning during calibration. I'm pretty sure that on the old motor I was able to adjust a space between the motor and wheel while engaged. Although this might affect my experience, I doubt it somewhat - I'm pretty sure that the tyre was pressing a lot harder against the old motor brake at the correct calibration See the discussion here: http://forum.tacx.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=22852 I follow this video - especially the bit @ 3:27 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDWqz2ARHSA I use TTS4 - the latest version that one can download yesterday. (The latest version was released after I removed my motor, so that changed as well) It is the T1941 motor. (But on the new one there is an addition sticker with T1946/110V on it. It is also visible in the above video from Tacx. I cant remember if it was on my old one as well.) So, i'm in communication with Coolheat, have a tread open on Tacx forums as well as here. My emotions are ranging from feeling very stupid to extreme frustration. I might make a very stupid mistake here. Is it possible for someone with a Tacx (especially Fortius) to please send me a picture of how much the tyre 'bulge' @correct calibration as well as how far they can get the motor brake away from the tyre when 'engaged'?. Or someone in CT/Western Cape that would be willing to allow a visit from me and my Tacx 'rig' - just to do a sanity check please... g
  8. Do you use the term 'course' for Strava 'route'? (I see you created a test route) If yes - would be keen to hear what you found that is better? Personally I found the Strava RouteMaster (http://engineering.strava.com/routemaster/) extremely easy and good - especially merging road and mtb tracks into a single route. Pity the routes and route builder it is not in the API V3 (yet).
  9. +1 - Thanks Dirtman, Hellwarp & co The amount of ST combinations to play around with is very nice. Plus the condition of the trails after the rain is very good for 99% of the distance & take a lot less traffic than Tygerberg or Jonkershoek = lots of 'me time'..brilliant
  10. A moment for Ryan Cox (9 April 1979 – 1 August 2007). Was and still is one of my favourite SA cyclists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Cox
  11. When I look at Liam's itinerary and route map for the month of August, I'm so jealous: http://wildirelandto...ple-and-places/ Me and the missus did big sections on the motorbike on our regular 'keep the ocean as close as possible on the right trips'. Not the full distance and not the site visits though. Think it would be brilliant to see the hidden treasures. Starting clockwise in Waterford tomorrow...
  12. I met him twice while he was doing the RAS (and I'm spectating). Nice lad
  13. Wonder what is in the "Poor Dan" box?
  14. It was point out to me that there is also a picture under FAQ
  15. Ditto, The phone number on the web site don't work so I filled in the contact form with the question. Would be nice to get a photo of one to get an idea of dimensions.
  16. This statement reads better. (The height of trig beacons are not just published for the benefit of trail runners.)
  17. Thanks for the answers Harryn. (Sorry, only saw it now.) I struggled initially to to open the motor last night - so I made contact with Coolheat first thing this morning, and talked to 'Jade' - seems to know his Tacx products, even motorbrake part numbers without referencing documents. I was impressed... They don't have a workshop in SA. (But keep stock of the Fortius motor) So I went ahead first to open my motorbrake - not much I can loose, it was not working anyway. Unfortunately it died a violent death though. I send pictures etc.to Coolheat to FW to Tacx. I wont discuss the cause yet, because I would like to hear Tacx technical explanation first. I don't keep Coolheat responsible and consider them an innocent bystander in my predicament. I explained this to them. I'm also not angry - just a bit frustrated: Had I tested the Fortius in Dublin the night after buying it, the same would probably have happened. (At that stage it sort of made sense to keep the box closed for the transport.) Now I have a different distributor and are outside a one year warranty. So, I might be out of the Tacx training sessions for a week or two.
  18. Thanks Berry While i'm struggle to open my motor/brake (), can i ask these questions please: I see CWC has a special on the trainer tyre (http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/tacx-home-trainer-tyre ) Is a it really worth it? i,e, do you notice a difference? While i was riding with Harryn in multi-player mode - I only had the GEarth 'map' screen. Is it possible to switch to a profile or route view (Both seems to be available before the ride start when i play with TTS now.) The GEarth screen is very grainy - see the image of me and Harryn. Is it the same for you as well? I switch on streetview in the settings now, but cant test if that give me a better 'view' Lastly - the white/blue controller on the handlebar. It seems one don't interact with it at all? thanks, g
  19. So I got my cadence magnet back this morning and it resolved the stop go issue. I were able to join Harryn for a ride and it was very nice/cool/impressive... until my brake seized/locked on a fast downhill and I almost pull a Contador over the handlebar. No matter what I do, it wont turn now. So after less than 20 minutes of riding the Tacx forum mentions taking the brake apart to see whats wrong...hmmm. Cant even take it to the SA distributor, bought the last day before we left Dublin and the box went straight into the container. ~18 months later and first time I actually used it. sigh.... a bit fed up with this shite.
  20. Then enter doesn't work for me either. IE11. ...sigh.... - jump to chrome to hit post.
  21. Hi Andy. My brake go crazy - stop go etc. Sorry - need to sort out my hardware. definitely next time.
  22. Hi Harryn I have a Fortius, but upgraded to TTS4, Have Google license, have multi-player license. Only thing missing is a cadence magnet at this stage. Currently I see nothing in the calender, but will be online just before 18:00. My account name is.... straatvark. Please be soft on me...
  23. I would be keen. Just finished my installation etc. Just not sure I understand everything yet. Only one way to learn... I will read the thread now, but anything I need to do/get?
