  1. For that money I would go Momsen Vipa with xx1. Or Spez epic with much better components and much lighter. Otherwise save R30k and buy a Anthem.
  2. Jensons Dad was awsome. Saw him at every race, I think he was a real fan and supported Jenson so well. I will miss seeing him at races for sure.
  3. They are nice, but they are toooo expensive. You can buy better for the money for sure. If you are a high earning professional with money to burn, why not. In our town nobody owns one, they are seen as "windgat " bikes. I like them, but I could never part with my hard earned Randelas for one.
  4. Really sorry I am going to miss this one. Heading up to Port Elizabeth to do the VW Herald on Sunday. No wind predicted for Sunday in PE.
  5. Merc and Ferrari on looks for sure. That pointy thing sticking out of the Red Bull nose will cause a lot of first lap punctures. The nose is allready so long, why make it even longer. Silly.
  6. I feel the least they could do was have cold water, Paarl was 35 degrees yesterday. Neway, I had a good time on the road bike. No problems, very well organised.
  7. I know this is the truth. I did the road race, but all my friends and girlfriend did the mtb event. Water tables had warm water, nothing to eat or anything special. Its a normal route on the mountain anybody can ride anytime for free. Why the expensive entry. I live in Paarl, the event last year had more entrants all round. Maybe the cost is catching up to them.
  8. Standard practice.Ten years ago I also had a drunken mishap on my birthday. They assisted me, and when the police arrived the car was long gone. I have since stopped drinking and driving completely.
  9. Looks better than the rest so far. Maybe because I am a huge Ferrari fanboy.
  10. I am 1,75, so def a medium frame. Momsen at the moment have some great deals. Honestly that would be a much better option than Titan. Plenty of Hubbers have Momsen and they love them. If I had to chose another bike besides my Specialized machines, I would go Momsen no doubt.
  11. But that would not mean the best bike. Please for heavens sake, if you buy a Titan, dont ever buy it from Sportmans warehouse, the way they build bikes are just scary. Titans are rather porky and heavy. Maybe include a budget, what your riding will consist of, your weight, age etc. Some of the experienced guys on the hub will assist you better than some greedy salesman.
  12. Boy am I glad I did not buy the Scott 910. Was on my list of bikes. Salesman talked me out of it. Thank fook.
  13. A silverback or Merida. . Dont limit your options. See which one of the three feels best and offers the best value and/or a service plan.
  14. Yuckie.
  15. I also dont have a wife and kids, I think that makes a big difference in the amount of races I am able to do. Also I can spend much more on cycling than my friends who have kids. Love the feeling of a new part on the bike, no matter how small it is.
  16. All this is getting me super excited for the 2014 season. Bring on Australia and lets see if anyone can beat those Bulls.
  17. I guess if you get really into it and take into consideration fuel to events and accommadation, I sometimes spend 5000 and more. Heading up to the Herald next week from Cape Town, fuel, accom, entry fee, quite expensive. But worth every penny.
  18. Agree, Roubaix has a little brother, the Secteur, Alu version, comes with disc brakes, as a mtb rider myself I hate road bikes brakes. Start at about 10k.
  19. Haha, read a couple of your posts today, you really seem to hate Spez. Just joking around wif ya. But why the hate.

    Argus 2014

I would also be keen to know. I want to go do the 94,7 this year. No way I am driving from Cape to Joburg.
  21. In this fine country of ours. Expect any dirty tactics. Glad you are okay.
  22. Then I must be doing really well cause I own 3 of them. Did not even realize, thanks dude.
  23. I dont know why everyone seems to think Spez is sooooo expensive. The s-works models are crazy, rest of the bikes are quite fair I think if you shop around. Oh well. My vote still goes for the Epic. The King of cross country racing.
  24. I really really really love the Vipa. Really. But I feel being proudly South African etc etc, they should offer us a better price. Not saying its overpriced at all, not what I am saying, I just feel it could be cheaper. Maybe because I cant afford it.
  25. Niiice, I especially love your wheels. They are my favourite.
