  1. If anyone pitches up there and wants an entry I am not going. No charge except transfer.
  2. Go to https://tiz-cycling.io/categories/paris-2024/ that is up and running 100% view any time.
  3. Temo have for ZAR 96.00 Anatomic for ZAR 299.00 Spez for ZAR 690.00 and and and. Note the 96ZAR is the same as the 690 ZAR. Same thing different print.
  4. Neoprene toe covers for the win. Cheap as far as cycling gear goes and they work wonderfully.
  5. I cant really see anything in those photos. However my experience with cracking rims (I have had quite a few as I have become a lard ass but still have the weight weenie rims), is that they normally crack longitudinally from the spoke holes. Also longitudinally inside the rim under the rimtape from spoke holes out?
  6. So pretty much a roadie race on gravel. Looked Super hard.
  7. That is because it is the new golf................ well old golf now. The more you can spend the better you are apparently. Coat, hat, door...........
  8. The issue was the statement that he was looking at a full sus because he was scammed by a bike shop because it was rusting. Hence the rabbit hole this thread has gone down.
  9. I am jumping in on this stage having not read the whole thread yet. But DAMN rusting... That will happen in one week if exposed to the elements and not lubing and maintaining the bike. If I was my bike and don't lube it it shows rust within a few days. I think the issue is more ignorance than anything else. Not being scammed. All bikes no matter where you buy them have the same components. The shop is not the issue the owner is. Also if you are going dual suspension and these are your issues be afraid, be very afraid as you are going to have way more issues and way more costly issues. To anyone selling the OP a bike please ensure you include a bike maintenance course and get the OP to sign a waiver or you are going to be in deep dodo.
  10. In my case it is the rider that has gone soft 😉 last year was a way "soft year for me"
  11. All tires are tubeless ready and even rims that say they are not...... are with a bit of TLC. I have not yet found an MTB tire or rim that cannot be made tubeless. To be honest some Racing Ralph tires that are Tubeless need a lot of work to make them seal.
  12. Well I did not load the GT on Strava initially, the Crackendal and the Momson are fully recorded. I should not say this but the Momson has a Fox Factory fork that has never been services and these days I am too afraid to touch it as I believe if I open it it will die. No station ware seen yet. The IDT does not record milage so who knows. Edit, the Crackendal was 2nd hand when I got it so who knows what it has really done.
  13. Why would you want the Bitey feel on a back brake? On the back less is more. It is up front that you need the business. OK note Italics/Comic Sans But really are back brakes that important?
  14. Note, I was just commenting on how vehemently they opposed allowing drop bars a few years ago.
  15. You could do it on a road bike with wide tires, or Gravel or MTB or Eversions of them; each have their benefits and drawbacks. All depends on what you feel like riding. There are no challenges on the course any more excepts some corrugations and some loose stones.
  16. That is going to be such a memorable trip. Damn, if I could I would have loved to join you for a bit. But I am a bit of a blob at the moment and these days are a bit of work. Note: Botrivier - Napier is a biiiig one. Expect to be fighting the South Easter headwind all the way. Typically it is less windy in the AM and tends to blow a gail in the afternoon. But if it is not blowing, it will be awesome. Napier - Breede - Witsand and Witsand - Stilbaai - Mossel Bay is also into a headwind most of the afternoon, but it gets better the further SW you go and the winds tend to be more from the SW. Thereafter you are running with the wind at your back.................... well so they say. I always think there is a headwind haha. Have a blast and keep us posted.
  17. Is CWC going to be rebranded as Cycle Lab (well it is on paper already)? So then there will be 2 x Cycle Labs in Cape Town Northen Suburbs?
  18. So now it is a gravel bike race, my how things have changed from gravel bikes being banned.
  19. https://www.gov.za/faq/justice-and-crime-prevention/what-bail-and-how-does-it-work Different factors are considered when deciding on the amount of bail. Seriousness of the offence is an important factor together with what the interests of justice permit. Factors such as the likelihood of additional offences being committed once out on bail, the flight risk, opportunity to intimidate witnesses and jeopardizing the trial will all be considered. The amount is usually determined by the magistrate’s discretion.
  20. Bail is not set based on the severity, but rather the flight risk.
  21. You can download the route file and load it on your Garmin or other GPS. Not sure about your mobile.

But this year is social for Chris. He rode up to the start from Cape Town with 2 mates in 4 days. So the legs should be warm now.... Not.
