  1. If you decide to change to compact, let me know. At the right price, I may take the 52/36 off your hands.
  2. That would be great, just need to find out from peevee if it worked. Peevee? If it did, I'll PM you my details
  3. Please let us know if it does. Unfortunately I will have to wait until I am in CT in Jan to get some as there are no stockists in Durban!
  4. So where do we get this here? http://www.ebay.co.u...e-/251219685934 or this http://www.amazon.co...ref=pd_sim_hi_1 I also found this locally http://www.homemark.co.za/product/house-and-home/diy-and-outdoor/leather-repair-kit
  5. As the Hubbers told me when I asked the same for my shoes and saddle, "These are well earned battle scars, show them with pride"!
  6. Take a look at this link. Especially the bit about knee pain and saddle height. http://www.bicycling.co.za/training-nutrition/beginners/the-golden-rules-for-beginners/
  7. Has anyone tried the First Ascent Compression Bibs? I got them just before Amashova. R899 and super comfortable snug fit. Chamois is tops too (IMO).
  8. And now for the best advice anyone will ever give you. Those that use this preventative medication already will vouch for me. 2 Panado's (or any paracetamol) with lots of water before you hit the pillow. You may be left with a hangUNDER but definitely no hangOVER.
  9. Back in the day when I was still at varsity (a looooong time ago), some of the serious riders used to put a shot of whisky in their bottles before a ride. Never quite worked that one out.
  10. To be honest Honk, I can't imagine myself getting OUT OF BED after all that!
  11. Easy-peezee. http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/
  12. I came across this product. Finish Line Chill Zone. May do the trick. http://www.finishlineusa.com/products/chill-zone.htm
  13. Not sure how tall you are. The link below is for a bike that would be perfect if you are around 175 - 182cm tall. It is a Ride-Lite so, as per my earlier comment will be more comfortable on the back. Also well spec'd Shimano 105 at a very fare price. At R7000 it would be a steal. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/69920-2013-merida-ride-lite-94-for-sale-mint-condition/
  14. As far as your back goes, it may be better to go for a bike like a Merida Ride rather than a Merida Race. The Ride has a slightly longer frame geometry and is easier on the back. For your knees set-up is crucial and make sure they get you cleats spot-on.
  15. Not sure about Kulula but Mango allow you to buy an extra "bike add-on"for about R275 each way.
  16. Birzman Frame and crank protector - R65.00 for STS. I'm sure you can get in CT somewhere. Just googled it and CWC used to stock it. Even advertised it on the hub.
  17. Contact STS Sports in Durban. They sell a nifty pre-cut pack that I bought for my bike for under R100. +27 31 312 9479 www.sportsperformance.co.za
  18. Hi. Not sure what size you looking for but this just posted. http://www.thehubsa....tarmacunridden/
  19. Falco. You and I are on a wavelength here!
  20. Glad they have been reunited. I was thinking that it was the result of his wife finding out what this bike was REALLY costing!
  21. What about perrel and peril? Perrel - The act of riding a bike through the Cape Flats Peril - Riding a bike through the Cape Flats
  22. This is exactly what the OP is looking or but works out quite expensive. You could buy a decent set of wheels after 3 or 4 races.
