Try go with something around 2 - 3 years old. Any older and if not looked after properly, bearings, cables, gears, etc could be tired. At the price you will get a good aluminium frame and groupset or even an entry level carbon frame. I got a steal on a 2012 Merida Scultura 904 (carbon with Shimano 105) last year for R10 000. Frame size is critical. How tall are you and what is your inside leg measurement?

I feel really sorry for Stuart and his team. I have it on VERY good authority that the cANCer rally organized by the city for Freedom Day was only planned just over a week ago but the race was date was set a year back! They were given the option to move the date of the race or cancel it! And yes, there will be broken bottles and trash everywhere, so make sure you bring extra tubes and bombs. Maybe they should look at moving the start to Suncoast or the new promenade down to Blue Lagoon.

The public holiday falls on the Sunday, which means that Monday 28th April is a holiday. Schools are on holiday on the Tuesday and Wednesday, and then Thursday 1st May is a holiday and schools are closed on 2nd May. It's sizing up to be a perfect KZN holiday opportunity, and a chance to enjoy the superb weather at this time of year with family and friends!" No. Event is definitely Sunday 27 April. They are just highlighting the fact that the next day is a public holiday. Bit confusing, I must say.

I understand fully. My Argus has now become a 6 day Cape Town holiday with the wife!

Bombing down the M19 from Pinetown to Springfield Park with full road closure is awesome. 79.8kmh even for me as a noobie last year.

Yip. That is off Cyclemeter from last year's ride. Most of it is pretty flat. Only real climb is up the M7 from Edwin Swales to Pinetown. A few gentle climbs to Westbrook Beach along M4.

Just been checking the weather. Not looking too promising. Might be one entry fee down the tubes for me, Not gonna risk a wipe-out or getting sick just before Argus. Rather lose R170 than the R8K it's costing to get me and the missus to CT!
