  1. Will a 29in wheel fit in your current fork? You say you are running 27.5 wheels so I am assuming you have a 27.5 fork. I could be wrong though. There are a few exceptions where guys run 29in forks with 27.5in wheels. If you can fit the bigger wheel in then I dont see a problem.
  2. Wow, best of luck to your mate.
  3. Anyone got any long term feedback on this groupset.
  4. Anyone have any idea when this will be available in sa? My 10 speed deore chain and cassette are due for replacement and I managed to destroy my rear derailleur this morning. Seems like the perfect time to move to 12spd.
  5. Just put this Rock Shox 35 on my Roscoe. Cant wait to take it for a proper ride.
  6. Very excited about this. My 2 year old 10sps deore has been rock solid. Haven't even changed a gear cable yet I have changed the chain.
  7. Based on all the hype I bought one to replace my aging WTB Rocket. To be honest its the most uncomfortable saddle I have ever used. After one ride I took it off.
  8. I have a pair of the Enduro ones and they are really good. Would definitely buy them again.
  9. If you take pride in your bikes appearance and often polish it, never, ever be tempted to polish the saddle.
  10. I am thinking of putting a 29er on the front of my Trek Roscoe. Its currently 27.5+ so geometry changes should be minimal.
  11. A few colleagues and I also rode to work today.
  12. Recently built up this 2007 Voodoo for my wife.
  13. Friend of mine bought a trail 5 and asked me to assemble it. I couldnt get the right pedal to go in and eventually discovered that it was threaded for a left pedal even though the axle was stamped RH. Could even screw it into the left crank. Other than this small problem the bike is fantastic for the price.
  14. I see no problem why it wouldnt work, as long as your derailleur can handle the range. I get away with a medium cage on my 1x set up so I am sure it would be fine with a long cage.
  15. Yup, got mine from the same place. Sent from my HUAWEI GRA-L09 using Tapatalk
  16. My wife has been bugging me for a while about getting a picnic table for our patio. After looking at a few ads on Gumtree I Jokingly said "No way, I can build one for half the price!" Next thing I knew the challenge was on and this was the result. Considering my woodwork experience goes as far as putting up the odd shelf or building car audio sub boxes I am pretty pleased with it. Total cost was just shy of R1000, including 2L of Woodoc 35. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b69/stuartfleming/P3215123_zps75h4ufao.jpg
  17. My 1995 Kona Explosif with a few modern upgrades. I absolutely adore this bike. Steel is definitely real! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b69/stuartfleming/IMG_20170212_103834_zpssf2lkyzs.jpg
  18. I am not into road bikes but that is proper sexy. Posted from a mobile device using Tapatalk.
  19. Thanks for the feedback. Sounds good.
  20. My concern come from the fact that when most 9 speed derailleurs where developed the largest range cassette was 11-34 or 12-36. These derailleurs were not designed with such a wide range in mind. I think 10 speed derailleurs were developed to handle the wide range. I have no doubt that the 10 speed Sunrace cassettes will work fine.
  21. I see Sunrace has 2 wide ratio 11-40t 9 speed cassettes. Anyone have any experience with these? My understanding is that a typical Shimano or SRAM 9 speed derailleur cant handle such a range so what are these cassettes for? I am interested in going 1x9 on my old Kona and would love to use one of these but have concerns. I have scoured the net but cant seem to find much first hand info on these cassettes. 22. Blast from the past time. Shortly after completing this build I gave the bike away to my brother so only rode it a few times. He gave it back to me a few months ago but it needed a bit of work and just stood in the garage. This morning I decided to replace a few components and this is the result: I still need a brake cable for the back but went for a ride this afternoon anyway. I felt like a kid again on a simple bike. lego

If you like Lego they have a great free software package called Lego Digital Designer. Its basically a 3D CAD package with libraries of most of the existing lego bricks that you can build with on your PC. Its not as nice as playing with the real thing but so much less costly. 25. When I was a student I had a tow bar fitted for my bikes and first time I used it the whole boot floor area got bent. As slowpoke mentioned above, it makes a big difference if the tow bar is mounted to the body or the chassis. The difference with using a tow bar for towing and bike racks is this: When using a rack the weight is offset away from the ball. This greatly exaggerates the forces being applied to the points where the tow bar is mounted to the vehicle as the weight twists the tow bar instead of just pushing down on the ball as it would when towing.
