  1. Complicate it much? How the hell is the OP gonna determine that. Simplify it like this, For every 1kg the OP loses he needs 0.025watts less to maintain the same speed. See easy....????
  2. This video showed it best for me...
  3. The dude is good (very good), the dude that edited the video needs some work - cutting phrames in the middle of a sequence. Almost feel like a stop-motion movie!
  4. You can stick with me. We're a whole group of Burger virgins...
  5. Houtbay to Camps Bay overall (both ways) ,is in quite a bad shape for cyclists. All the best with your recovery.
  6. This will be my first Burger, after surviving the Engen! Any hints ito planning my ride ( when to punch, when to recover etc)?
  7. Haha, you got me till the end. Nice!
  8. haha I might just slip on P and get caugth by my X....
  9. Got it! i start in N! Not sure whether thats better or wors?
  10. PPA seeding.... is there a difference? noob question, I know...
  11. now its working.... Starting in T... Damn! Which means I'm probably in the last group....
  12. Everytime I try access the PPA website to check my seeding, I get an internal server error message....damn edit: grammar
  13. Or get a good second hand for 5k and use the 1k for a proper service (peace of mind) and some extras(bombs, tjoops etc)
  14. Agreed. Go for something better second hand than entry-level new. You could pick up something really nice for 6k.
  15. According to law, have to is the correct phrase (or at least us Capies). As per the new law, posted in another thread: (3) A person may not ride a pedal cycle on a public road— (a) on the right-hand side of a motor vehicle proceeding in the same direction, except when passing that motor vehicle or turning right at an intersection; Should, refers to some one listening to sound advice. You should ride one the left, but you do have a choice in the matter. Have to states the imperative that if you want to ride on a public road you have to ( or you will- you cant make an alternative choice) to ride on the left. That is if you are a law-abiding citizen. The law renders the whole thread mute. Safe or nor, it doesnt matter. Its a have to situation. Its like Cassie's rogue thread. He wont accept a should buy a permit. If you want to ride their tracks, you have to. Thats the rule. End of discussion.
  16. Thats what I said! Glad we are in agreement again Dale!
  17. opening or hopefully finally closing another can of worms
  18. I guess this renders the riding against or with traffic thread mute
  19. Yip i thought you must hold the one end tight and to loosen the other...... needless to say, after a couple of bend allan keys and spanners, I realized my mistake.... nooby (idiot) mistake....
  20. 1. buy a bike 2. have it set up properly 3. ride, ride, ride (find a group to ride with. It helps) in that order...
  21. from experience, don't put the allan key from the back and the spanner over the bolt and pull in opposite directions..... that doesn't work...
  22. This seems to be a human nature problem. If someone is a prick, he will be one on and off the bike. Unless the cyclist community makes a united stand against this scourge, we might lose the priviledge of riding the farms all together. Something has to be done.
  23. Schucks. No wonder I went bundu-bashing with my gators the other day.....
  24. I was there on Sunday. They were already busy cleaning up. It seems the damage is only at the last few corners before Houtbay. I'm sure they would be done before February..... I hope..... please not Kaapse weg...
  25. Ride faster.....
