It gripped like crazy all through the dry summer at Tokai on sand, dusty soil, loose rock etc. I don't think dry conditions would be a problem at all.

Tokai going up in flames led me and Ben to Chris Nixon's cycling academy in Constantia. We had a really good time but boy am I missing Tokai already and it's only been a week. I had become accustomed to heading out there around four times a week and now it's gone. Sob... The HD's that bad? They seem to be gaining a bad rep lately. I desperately need to replace my rear tyre and that tyre has slowly fallen down the list, near the top now is a Nobby Nic.

That was fun, despite I don't know how many mechanical mishaps,How Ben did what he did to his chain I don't know, I have never seen a chain tangled like that before.

Not sure if serious?Why would SASC involvement make it safer, and what reason do you have for questioning the events safety?

He does seem to have the skills. I made him angry last night after making him crash (I had a *moment* and he barreled into me at speed and went otb) after which he insisted on leading. I lost track of him in the first two corners on Mamba and didn't see him again until I dropped out of Snakeyes, via Boomslang, where he was parked off relaxing. He put me in my place big time and too top it off he had the fastest Strava time of the day on Snakeyes. At eleven years old. Somehow managing to bring me great joy and crush my soul in one try...
