  1. I'm loving it and am rapidly vanishing down the road towards being an uber nerd when it comes to all the theories etc in there.
  2. I haven't seen it mentioned here but "Utopia", a Channel 4 (UK) series is brilliant. A bit mad but brilliant.
  3. Told you. That bloody snake was just the first of your shocks for the day
  4. 14 years old and set in his ways.
  5. Copy & paste job for you - Yesterday was a milestone for mountain biking in Cape Town! The revised EMP for Mountain Biking was officially adopted and signed by the Table Mountain National Park manager,on behalf of San Parks and Meurant Botha,as chair of the Table Mountain MTB Forum. The signing has paved the way for the opening of a number of existing footpaths, based on a Trailsharing principle. It really is in the hands of the cyclists to make this a success. It is especially important, when we get access to a trail in Newlands Forest,Kirstenbosch and Cecilia Forest. These areas are dog walking "bastions" and we know that Kirstenbosch is an area that protects our local flora. We are privileged to be able to use these spaces as Transit routes to get to Hout Bay,the Greenbelts and further on,Tokai. Based on lessons learnt from the Greenbelts trail project, first 6 months of Trailsharing will be tough, with current users not wanting cyclists to share paths with them and some cyclists not understanding the need to slow down, get off your bike or pat a dog. We've all got to be prepared to bite our tongue (walkers & cyclists) and understand that this is a shared space and we all love being outdoors. Diffuse a situation with a friendly word & a smile! It works. We will publish maps and communicate more information as we get closer to 1 December. There will be a group ride on 1 December, through a section of new trails, most likely from Rhodes Memorial to Constantia Nek. You'll need your activity permits to join us. Yesterday was a big step forward for MTB in Cape Town. Thank you to everyone that made it possible and kept the faith! P.S. Tokai is still set to open 31 December. We did ask for Tokai to open on 1 December, but an indemnity document, sitting on a desk in Pretoria, needs a signature. That is the holdup, over which we have little influence.
  6. No, people can have an opinion that differs from yours.
  7. More likely the US version that most over here seem to watch.
  8. If it's anything like the, classic, movie then very much yes.
  9. Even if it is only your last line that is true then for those kids it's a worthy exercise.
  10. That line says it all really.
  11. He kind of exploded in a thread and got banned. Bit of a pity in many ways because, despite the meltdowns, Gerhard a lot to offer and he generally meant well.
  12. Meow. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r251/mss-65/ll_cat_sound_zps12hqin7y.gif But an unfortunate amount of true too...
  13. Can't say I blame you in your situation I would have resembled a scene from 'The Flash', possibly setting a land speed record in the process. If the wait for the lift was too long I would have been considering window options. I was there a couple of years back getting a parking fine thrown out on the very reasonable grounds that the vehicle in question was described as a red Mercedes and was parked outside a ladies hairdressing shop in Woodstock. My car being a white Landy and me not frequenting either Woodstock or ladies hair salons really played in my favour. But damn that court is a depressing place.
  14. Sharp, very sharp. Personally I think Madness should be their house band.
  15. inSANityParks?
  16. People will be looking at this and thinking "There's a gap..."
  17. I will join you in mutual dislike of Kill Bill.
  18. An official installer used to be mandatory as far as I know but realistically it's no more difficult than changing the bottle on a gas heater, and when selling a house I have yet to be asked to produce an installation certificate.
  19. Not sure of the regulations but we have had two installations done in the not too distant past and one ran the piping through the wall to outside and other was into an adjacent cupboard. If you buy from Tafelberg they can recommend an installer but I don't see why you can't do it yourself.
  20. The gas bottles used to last me many months and you know I use the oven a lot but in my experience they are guaranteed to run out around 10am on Christmas day like clockwork for three years on the trot. FWIW I would still say that an electric oven is the way to go if baking but the gas ovens have improved a lot. You can do any kind of cooking you want with gas but it may take a bit if experimentation to get used to it Running costs? Not sure but the last article I saw still had electric as cheaper but not by much. Edit - every Christmas I made vague promises to keep a spare gas bottle, but well yeah...
  21. I still tend to think his early movies were his best work.
  22. That was a slightly mad but enjoyable movie.
  23. You can say that and it's probably fair but at some point I just got sick of people sniping at the committee.
