  1. It's possible but I have landed on my head so many times I struggle to remember anything these days. I don't remember Ben's bike breaking recently but as I said about my memory...If it helps he rides a black and red anthem.
  2. He looks forward to you pitching up - we must make a plan. And yes chasing me is long gone, I am at peace with that now.
  3. Chasing? I just unleash him at the top and he waits for me at the bottom. Since meeting you bunch of bad influences he has lost interest in xc and only wants to point downhill and go lol. Enduro May very well be his thing. I must say the look on people's faces when he lashes past them as they walk a section is priceless, most to be fair have a huge smile to go with the 'how the...' look. Edit - that should say #Enduro. I don't want to upset anybody [emoji1]
  4. Oh yes. This all started when he realized I wasn't a challenge anymore (now 20 plus seconds behind him on Vasbyt) and he spotted that Myles is around 3 seconds ahead of him. I have advised Myles to make the best of it because when Ben hits twelve or so I can see him being somewhat faster [emoji1] At the moment I have scaled back his riding time because between athletics, swimming, road running, riding, hockey and scouts he is busy seven days a week. Plus it gives me a little extra practice time...
  5. Been meaning to call but hell you know where to find us lol. Give me a shout any time, you can see the latest version of my bike, it's much improved. I'm not but you can't have everything. And Myles has taken Ben's challenge on board...
  6. I'm using the Muddy Mary SG Trailstar and although it looks more like the pics posted before this one it still offers fantastic grip.Close to a year of riding and it looks like this -
  7. I was watching him last week and he is just so light on the bike, he basically floats over everything. He is only going to get faster now he has decided to target Myles Strava times [emoji1]
  8. Super gravity trailstar but the big thing is the rider is 25ish kilos. He is pretty fast but it looks like weight is the bigger factor in determining tyre damage.
  9. Ben's annoyingly fresh Magic Mary after six months or so of use.
  10. No doubt the Magics seem to hold together better than the HD or even the Muddy Mary. I will try and post a photo of Ben's front tyre later, he is out and about on it three or four times a week (and not travelling slowly either) and it still looks brand new. Being twenty something kilos has its advantages when it comes to tyre wear.
  11. Speak to Capricorn he seems to have a magical touch when it comes to importing tyres at a good price.
  12. Is the emphasis there on the words 'too much'?
  13. Doubt it - they are snakeskin by the looks of it.
  14. That is quite bad tearing, how are yours looking? For reference Ben's ones look annoyingly new still.
  15. Trail & Tar in Tokai have in stock, and last years models are open to a decent discount (offered me less 30% but they didn't have in my size). Try them they are very helpful.
  16. Isn't that 'City Rock'?
  17. They are at a level or so above the Scanpan but below the Wusthof & Global. Not something I would choose if the other alternatives are available to you. That said they aren't bad, should last a while and are reasonably weighted.
  18. If you can go all out on a set of decent knives it is something you just wont regret (and they are useful for defending yourself when the wife finds out just how much you spent on them). See them as a lifetime investment. For what its worth I dislike Global, I prefer Wusthof and a more traditional feel to a knife, also Global are massively over priced on the back of being a bit trendy. Have a look here and tell me you don't want... http://www.wuesthof.com/international/products/index-3.jsp
  19. That is quite hefty. If I bought one it would be purely for convenience (and possibly because my inner geek came roaring out) because we (and by we I mean me, the wife last stood in front of a stove around 2004) basically prepare every meal from fresh already. But you have put that thing on my radar that's for sure.
  20. The only thing I can think of is less wastage (but 50% is a hell of a high wastage number) and possibly shrinkage (steaming not boiling), or possibly everybody is enjoying the food so much less pre-made crap is being bought? I am keen to know too, along with where can you get them and for how much.
  21. I still have my beady eye on my Mums original collection of Elvis & Beatles 78' s, some classic stuff there.
  22. Not sure if better or not but the version of Fortunate son by Lyle Workman is great stuff. Original - Cover -
  23. I was forced to watch that for the first time last week by the wife. Convinced I was going to hate it but found myself enjoying it far more than I thought I would. The one big downer was seeing a fit and healthy Patrick Swayze and knowing how he died.
  24. Gone a bit mental lately and swapped out my Felt hardtail frame for and Giant Anthem 1. And then added a KS Lev dropper (thanks Deon!) and a new set of Fox 32 forks. Sometime between the forks and the dropper there was a new set of wider bars and today a pair of Indola baggy shorts. Very busy covering my tracks in case the wife notices.
  25. I can vouch for that given that, thanks to a few too many injuries, my right foot points out rather than forward. And yes I do look a bit like you would imagine Penguin from Gotham riding a bike.
