My Giant Anthem 29er is very quiet. We've had to re-adjust my friend's Anthem's brakes but it is now ok.

I've received the following communication from Johanna this morning: "I email you back and did then not receive any further communication from you. I am happy to arrange the photographs from this year for, but must point out to you that this was not Action Photo’s incompetence but that you were not on the list of pre-paids received from the race organiser." It is clear that ActionPhoto does not take responsibility for anything: 1- We have an Enterprise Email Archiving Solution at work. I did a search - No further emails were received from Johanna. 2- She claimed that I was not on the list of pre-paids received by the organiser... If this is true - Why did I receive the incorrect photos initially. 3- In a follow-up mail from her, she stated that the correct photos were sent to me but was not delivered because my PO Box was incorrect ... Again - how did they manage to send the incorrect photos initially? I've raised the questions above to Johanna but I am still waiting for a response. I do not appreciate it when a person does not accept responsibility for their actions. Had she said: "Sorry - we've screwed up but we will sort it out" I would have applauded her and probably supported them. In this instance however it is clear that there is a problem in their organisation and they need to change before I will support them again.

..... I've spent the last 3 days sorting out a car's paperwork. (drove 300km in total) Reeeaaaaly tested my patience. I think it is a South African thing.. Problem is: we accept it. I am not accepting this any longer. Ek maak k@k totdat ek gelukkig is.

Here's the deal: I've paid for the 2008 - 94.7 photos in full. ActionPhoto sent me photos of a chick an a mountain bike. (not me) I phoned them and guided a guy to the correct photos, which he promised to send but I have not received anything. Saw the rant on the Hub and emailed Johanna. Hub Post I received the following email 3 months ago from Johanna: "Thank you for contacted me. I am overseas in the UK at the moment but will have a look at the matter and see what we can do." Well Johanna - I've sent you an email in which I suggested that you send me the 2010 event's photos free of change. (I think that is fair) Please respond with your view on this. Do you agree with my grievance? Do you feel my proposal is unfair? I would like to understand what went wrong with my order. (Is this is once-off mistake or are you just not capable of covering big events?) I will not accept poor service any longer!

Looks like the new models will require less maintenance. There is a rider weight limit for the titanium shaft models. (also very expensive) What happens to egg beaters when you have a serious pedal strike? How strong are they? Anybody with bad experiences? To be fair - please also list real issues that you've experienced with SPDs.

Hi All I've been using SPDs without any issues but the light weight of the Eggbeaters and 4 sided entry sounds very tempting. Please share your experience with your fellow Hubbers. In my opinion (and experience) SPDs are reliable, handles mud reasonably well, entry is no issue and I can use my shoes for spinning. Is there a strong case why I should change? Am I missing something just because I haven't tried the Egg Beaters?

It is good to see your positive comments. If you read the Hub post, it sounds like everybody had their seat-posts inserted within limits. Make no mistake - I am a huge Giant fan. Recently sold my 2009 Trance to upgrade to Anthem 29er. I do not think any other brand can compete with Anthem 29er in terms of value. The component mix is fantastic and it is very light. (Even with stock wheels.) LBS weighed XL 29er. Think it was 11.2 kg. The 2010 Anthem 26" X2 with similar spec (Mostly XT) was only 200g lighter. I will probably still go with the Anthem 29er but I just do not want to get stuck with an unreliable frame.

Just compare the Giant's frame with the Ellsworth Evolve and Niner Jet9. (Jet9 had to be redesigned) All 3 bikes have similar (80 - 100mm) travel.
