  1. All my hardware still in. (11 years) Mostly because the Dr could not get the pin in my humerus out. My take on it - if there is a risk of another fracture - take it out.
  2. Pecan Nuts for sale https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=59268&new=1
  3. I've been following a LCHF lifestyle for the past 8 months. Weight Loss = 15kg!
  4. stunning bike and location!
  5. 2013 GT POWER SERIES 24 MSRP: $490 http://www.gtbicycle...power-series-24 What do you think of this bike? Any good? I want to ride with my son but no racing in mind. Where in JHB can I buy one? Local price?
  6. Lindt's squares are huge. Next time try Woolworths' brand dark choc. Very tasty and blocks are small.
  7. My Polar S725x recently started giving problems. I took it to the agents and they said "Sorry we no longer carry spares" For new models - I cannot fault Polar's service. BUT Garmin wins hands-down (i.m.o) for customer service.
  8. Yes - I found the 705 very slow (navigating menus etc)
  9. Is there a big price difference? XT and FOX = Solid combination. Cannot comment on the Team bike as I have no DT Swiss - and very limited X9 knowledge.
  10. Follow the LCHF diet.
  11. The pain started soon after a recent left-hand si joint fusion surgery. The RH si joint was fused 11 years ago after a straddle pelvis fracture. (a Forklift drove over me) I just had injections in the spine to try an relieve the pain. I cannot even sit on a couch - have not even tried sitting on my bicycles
  12. Pudendal nerve entrapment (PNE), also known as Alcock canal syndrome,[1][2] is an uncommon[1][3][4][5] source of chronic pain, in which the pudendal nerve (located in the pelvis) is entrapped or compressed.[6] Pain is positional and is worsened by sitting. The typical symptoms of PNE or PN are seen, for example, in male competitive cyclists (it is often called "cyclist syndrome[5]), who can rarely develop recurrent numbness of the penisand scrotum after prolonged cycling, or an altered sensation of ejaculation, with disturbance of micturition (urination) and reduced awareness of defecation.[9][10] Nerve entrapment syndromes, presenting as genitalia numbness, are amongst the most common bicycling associated urogenital problems.[11] The pain is typically caused by sitting, relieved by standing, and is absent when recumbent (lying down) or sitting on a toilet seat.[12] If the perineal pain is positional (changes with the patient's position, for example sitting or standing), this suggests a tunnel syndrome.[13]Anesthesiologist John S. McDonald of UCLA reports that sitting pain relieved by standing or
  13. Anybody suffering from this condition? Is there a cure? will I be able to cycle again?

  15. I am a back-marker at best, so I cannot comment on rolling resistance etc but I love the comfort and grip. I used to ride with Crossmarks front and back but during last year's Mabalingwe race, I lost the front-end at very low speed close to the finish on a patch of loose over hard. Started my search for a tyre with more grip and bought a Hans Dampf Trailstar 2.35 from CRC. I love this tyre in front of my Anthem 29er Tubeless mounting was very easy on stock rims. Sadly I have not done any riding during the last year due to poor health but I can recommend this tyre.
  16. I need the GPS, which is not available on the FR70
  17. The FR10 seems like a cheap entry into GPS watches. I am also considering my options as my Polar 2007 S725X was damaged beyond economical repair during a fall.
  18. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/11/my-2012-sports-gadget-recommendations.html Running (Budget): Garmin FR10: The competition has been heating up over the last 12 months for the sub-$100 watch category. And while the FR10 costs $29 more than sub-$100, I believe it’s $29 well worth it – primarily due to the Garmin Connect platform and downloadable data that the sub-$100 watches don’t have. The unit has arguably more features than the Garmin FR210 that’s twice its price. And with two sizes (for normal and small wrists) and three colors, it’s the perfect gateway drug into running GPS watches. This unit generally costs about $129 and is available from both Amazon and Clever Training. Running (Mid-Range): Polar RC3 or Garmin FR210: Both of these watches are really solid. Previously I’ve said that I think for 95% of the runners out there, the FR210 works great (primarily for the footpod support for indoor running, as well as basic interval support). However, the RC3 matches most of that and adds more around heart rate training and coaching that the FR210 doesn’t have. The Garmin FR210 costs about $200 and available from both Amazon and Clever Training. The Polar RC3 costs about $270 and available from both Amazon and Clever Training. Note that the Timex Run Trainer is in this same range, and I do recommend it. However, there still continues to be some bugs that cause some people problems there – whereas the above two are generally less buggy. And for those curious about the Motoactv, it’s a solid contender, but the company has more or less pulled out of the market – so it’s hard for me to recommend products from companies they don’t plan long-term support or new features. Running (High End): Garmin FR610: If I had to pick just one running watch to use forever, it would probably be the FR610. It just works, and I can use it as a day to day watch as well (unlike many of the triathlon watches). The wireless downloading via ANT+ means the data is there before I get to my computer, and the touch screen actually works (unlike the olderFR405/FR410 touch bezels, which I despise). Additionally, the falling apart band issues with some of the initial units have been resolved, so that’s no longer of concern. The Garmin FR610 costs about $350 and is available from both Amazon and Clever Training.
  19. I've had a similar experience a week ago. Sealant dried up and left residue on inside of the tyre. With what can I safely clean the tyre? or must I just leave it?
  20. One on my trailer. use it often

    Boksburg area

I am looking for a slowish group to join in Boksburg. I can ride most mornings.
  22. Beware of the hidden carbs. I've had marinated ribs which elevated my BG significantly. Read the labels. I do not think that a glass of red wine is going to hurt
  23. Look at your Mineral intake, especially salt, zinc and Magnesium (SlowMag) to help with the weakness on the bike Avoid iron in multivitamins unless you have a problem.
