  3. Hi guys Would like to know who has this wheel set and how are they? I'm 6 foot 4 and weigh about a 100 kg and looking to upgrade my wheelset. Was looking at ztr flow but a bit pricy... Would appreciate some feedback. Thanks guys
  4. I've seen them on quite a bit actually...
  5. What rear derailleur do u have?
  6. Hi guys Quick noob question I'm building up a 2nd wheel set for a ss project. I'm using jalco rims ( these came off a merida big nine tfs 300 ). They had crossmarks non ust tires that I ran with tubes. I have now bought crossmark lust tires so I can run a tubeless setup. Question is what prep do I need to do to the rim to get it tubeless ready? I know you get the rim tape and the valves, but do I have to do the whole rubber rim strip thing or can I just go with the tape? I have the Stan's sealant but nothing else just yet. I know this may have been brought up before but easier this way... Thanks
  7. Very nice build! Enjoy!
  8. Awesome worked a charm! Thanks!
  9. Hi guys So I have finally got around to doing a headset service and I have noticed my steerer has some surface rust on it. I am using a Thomson stem so there is a section of the steerer that is visible, but looks horrible with surface rust ( or whatever it is ). What's the best way to clean it up? If there is a way? See attached picture Shot
  10. Merida I'd say. I have the large big 9 300 and I am 1,85m. Very comfy, great frames and decent bang for your buck
  11. Couldn't agree more Me and the mrs are on coastal saver through discovery. We get great savings aprox 14k for doc visits and meds ( a portion of which carries over to the next year ). My proudest investment however is a premium gap cover policy which covers ALL shortfalls and all co-payments. In total this sets me back about 3k a month but knowing that I am comprehensively covered by far out weighs the cost.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't specialized replace the helmet at 100%?
  13. Sorry to hear that...Post pics! We will keep a look out.
  14. Love this frame, what's it going for? Anyone know?
  15. Not cool man. Suppose everyone has a different experience, be it with car brands, banks, bikes and shops... Sad that there is no consistency anymore. Only person I trust with my bike is me
  16. Eish that's a bit of a c@&k up...
  17. Not one of my purchases but was bought for me by the mrs to use at work...eish... Handles great tho, weight is good and looks clean overall.
  18. Maybe coz 9 8 10?
  19. Correct I have just done mine, used castrol all purpose bearing grease quite generously. Done 140 Kms so far and know prob.
  20. Don't do cajees...bad idea
  21. I'm commenting with regards to the earlier comment about posting something like this. At the end of the day, this is a rant and rave forum. Therefore, if cycling related, anyone is entitled to start a thread worth discussing. We are all cyclists, discussing an issue, all be it a relatively small one. This is part of " the hub". Littering isn't cool, and most clubs pride themselves on cycling ethics.
  22. Hi guys I have just driven past a dodgy looking African male with torn clothes riding through Hillcrest on a bergamont 29er hardtail. The bike is matte black with green writing. Looks like the entry level or one up model from that range... Just thought it was an odd fit as I know that bike retails for over 8k... He was riding past the woolworths in Hillcrest heading west toward both as hill. Just thought I would mention something as it looked very sketchy... Could be nothing but would rather not take a chance.
