  1. remove the inner sole and lift the hard sole to find the plate onto which the cleats screw into. this comes with new cleats...
  2. Read it again Caps... I have singlehandedly and legally built big and long trials, but feel that i add to the effort when out riding and clearing a section. I love building trails, but cant stand cyclists' money going into other coffers.
  3. My point exactly... I don't mean for you to get paid, but maybe the odd tank of water would be nice. Or allowing expansion of the trails - it must be one of the most awesome locations around. I appreciate all trail work and do some myself - even if it is sometimes only clearing a branch on a ride. Maybe, one day, authorities will fight for the majority user (cyclists) and not be the voice of minority hikers. Imagine a trail from Tokai, into Sivermine and Hout Bay, across to Camps bay and over Kloof Nek, above Newlands and Kirstenbosch and back to Tokai... it would be world famous and the most amazing ride...
  4. I do pay... but it irks me greatly that they take the money, put none to trailbuilding or maintenance and hikers go in for free...
  5. I would stay with fox...
  6. http://www.santacruzbikes.com/company/index.php?NewsID=0204 Their range is increasing and maybe they are trying to move away from the "boutique brand" image with the Highball alu...
  7. take a picture and send it to them... they'll send another
  8. Junior coming in 4th overall behind world cup compeditors.... Tiaan Odendal! http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/south-african-national-series-durbanville-2012/downhill/results
  9. +1 Would love to see the progress and final product...
  10. thanks... this answers my question. already have new nipples and was planning to keep position of the spokes with masking tape when replacing rim...
  11. Do bicycle spokes stretch with normal use? Ie: should they be replaced with the nipples when rebuilding a new rim onto a old hub? I know they fatigue and weaken, but do they stretch? thanks a
  12. http://blog.rushspor...012/02/02/1427/ Hannah and Hannah on Morewoods!
  13. AWESOME! Great for SA... maybe we'll see a SA bike and rider on the podium this year!

  16. Welvanpas! Not much further than stellies and the best tracks and fewer people....
  17. I have had the exact issue for some time now... where is the money going? And who builds and maintains the trails? Its even worse in Tokai. I now look at riding in privately owned tracks like Oak Valley and Welvanpas. At least the passion is there and fewer people...
  18. BC Bike Race for me... and a solo 24 hr Have ticked off TransAlps, TransRockies, Epic so far
  19. lube it and ride it... FYI: on long or rainy trips with the bike on the back of the car, i take my chain off
  20. I was also amazed at the difference a wide bar and short stem makes to a "sluggish" (with respect!) steep head angle - I loved it. But I am a big boy. Try it Martin... if you dont like it, you can always cut the bar down!
  21. True... the front end wanders on steep climbs. Fox have a lovely solution: TALAS!
  22. I rode this bike a couple of weeks ago... ITS AMAZING! Takes some getting used to - neither XC/trail nor DH geometry, but really great ride. Having said that, I'm sure all of the above-mentioned brands will make great bikes. This frame also has been getting great reviews and the carbon version is almost available...
  23. Warning : new troll on the prowl... Didn't get it all this morning TNT? Chill dude... Back to the original question: i take my chains off when travelling in the rain - at least it saves the bike from that annoying superficial rust.
  24. Looks great! And how does a person get access or permission? Directions?
  25. Easton Monkeylite carbons with low rise... Definately no barends!
