  1. or a baseballbat
  2. my opinion: dont waste time doing something that should be left for the professionals - especially if its for bling. it never comes out as nice as you imagined it anyway... leave it as is or get new hubs. if you getting new hubs, might as well get the whole wheelset and sell the older one or use it as a training set.
  3. should be the same as the FD clamp size... in older frames at least
  4. thats easy... the tallboy!
  5. add this to the decision process....
  6. ditto covie...
  7. lezyne alloy one is great...
  8. the green locktite works well for outer races of bearings... but i must say that after all you have tried, to no avial, the problem might be somewhere else...

    My new ride

Absolutely awesome! You could do anything but win a XC race on that bike... great mix of components. Don't worry too much about weight - just go out and ride!
  10. That would not be a very nice ride...
  11. not sure what Bos wants or likes, apart from SC... which sits fine with me! Blessed Christmas time and Happy trails! a
  12. J-spokes are neither weaker nor stronger - they are more prone to fatigue failure - repeated movement/bending causing the spoke to break. A bit like when you try to break a piece of wire or steel by repeatedly folding it. The hub does not hang from the top spokes, neither does it stand on the bottom - it is suspended in tension by all the spokes within the rim. It would fail even if you remove the left or right side 50% (or 25% for that matter) of spokes...
  13. Also love the SC bikes and philosophy. I have old LT and new LT... love both. Old LT for more XC/ epic all day stuff and new for rougher rides. Been looking around for 29er. Love the Tallboy, rides like a dream, but too close to another trailbike... so was looking at hardtails... kwela 29er... but not anymore! Pics from SC website, under blog section...
  14. Nice!
  15. bloody agent!
  16. pm me your email... yes, into lesotho, the sethabatebe national park. from there you have a whole new world to explore!
  17. very much unmarked! i kinda know the area so know where to go. google earth is a great help and i can send the approximate route if someone would like it. you follow the markings to "twin pools" and veer left about halfway. lesotho locals use it as a path to go buy food in underberg and there are some commercial tourist pony trekkers who use the route as well. they walk the horses down some of the more hectic stuff...
  18. We stayed in silver streams campsite - awesome place, by the river and pet-friendly. Bushmans Neck Hotel is 2 km further - also great. The "ride" took us 5 hrs - 3 and half up and rest down. Not racing at all, some compulsory picnic and photo stops. Lots of hike-a-bike on way up and down, but some of the most amazing natural singletrack. Overall quite tough, but unbelievable experience....
  19. start them young i say....
