  1. There is a very big difference between your V8 and your bicycle. Your V8 engine, for instance, does around 4000rpm ave take that over an 3hour drive, and you get a whole lot of cycles. The are also more factors in your V*, like heat and pressure, that speeds up wear and tear. You cannot compare that with your bicycle. Your wheels turn at roughly 120rpm, with a very low load factor and no heat (or should I say neglectable), calculate that over a 3 hour ride and compare then, remember, a bearings life is measured in cycles, not km or hours. Most bikes bearings are over designed, this is to make it simpler and stay with industry standard sizes. The only thing that will cause the wear to be aggravated, is if you wash with strong soap, directly on the bearings, where it could pass the seals or if you use pressure washers, that could force sand and water into the grease. But to answer the OP's question and as JB said, almost any midas grease can be used. I usually take the grease that you get in the packets with car wheel bearings.
  2. For interest, what cluster ratio are you running?
  3. I guess they googled an image for the new Red 22 Groupset and only found the hoax pic of the hydraulic groupset posted a while back. Just a note to people buying, your groupset will not look like this at all. lol
  4. Ja, I hope most people know that flu is caused by a virus and not bacteria. Best bet is lots of fluids, rest and keep your body temp up. Also eat more natural vit c, like guava and naartjies. Honey and rooibos helps a lot with soothing the scratching in the throat and also helps to detoxify.
  5. Thats only a problem if you use a 10spd shifter on a 9spd cluster, the jockey does not mind the cluster spacings.
  6. Yes, just use 9 speed shifters and a bit of patience when setting the gears.
  7. Looks like New York, with the Trade tower being built there on the left?
  8. Sorry, probably meant a 17", forgot the mtb sizes a bit, or should I rather say, between a small and medium.
  9. If you buy it and ride it as is, it could get very uncomfortable and if you do a setup, it could get expensive, as special sized parts will be needed. But to start with could be fine while you scout for the correct size. You will most probably need a 54/52 road bike or a 19" mtb for optimal fit.
  10. I would think that if the seal was broken, oil would be leaking out, so I doubt that is a problem. I would guess you could just open the bleeding hole at the lever and then ever so gently push the pistons back, forcing the oil back into the reservoir. No air would be able to get into the system and you just close the bleeding hole at the lever again.
  11. I think its the same as the fake websites. All those pics comes off of the web> You pay and wait and wait and wait.
  12. Jip, basically, That's why a lot of Pro's rather use the Dura-Ace Cassette, as its only slightly heavier, but a lot quieter. But it also amplifies your freewheel ratcheting a lot, and I like that part.
  13. Its the dome of the rear combined gears, it works as an amplifier for drive-train noise.
  14. Its 99% compatible, but the SRAM RED clusters are very noisy.
  15. For a lady wanting clincher, I would most certainly recommend the ZIPP 303, you wont get a better balance of quality, weight and performance. But saying that, why not look at the BlackSpade lightweight 38mm clinchers, they are good quality for a great price and you can upgrade something else as well? https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/58839-black-spade-racing-super-lite/
  16. 55/42 om my one road bike at the moment. Normally I would use 53/39, but I must say, I climb and pace better with the 55 at the moment.
  17. Why do you only make race registration up until 4pm! Most people work till 5pm, how on earth do they not respect that people work for a living and cannot take 2 hours off of work, every second week, to drive 200km, to fetch a number, that I payed for. I race licensed, so I am also not allowed to pick my number up on race day and now there's a problem with my seeding. Please Please Please explain the logic for my why you cannot keep registration open up until lets say 7pm or 8pm?
  18. Go with specialized again, even their cheaper shoes will have the same fit and shimano pedals are good bang for buck pedals and cleats are cheapish.
  19. What make pedal and shoe do you ride with currently?
  20. Depends on the type of Beer, a draught is better bang for buck, but a bit diluted.
  21. Its a good way to make your pee more expensive.
  22. Yes, why not, go ahead, give him his wins, create a president that if everybody keeps doing it, they wont take away everything from you, go ahead and encourage everyone to dope rather than just the one or two cheats, thats a sure way to get the sport clean.
  23. Do you have a quill or a clamp type stem?
  24. No, sorry, not a lack of common sense. Its the ability to see people have double standards for everything, as long as it suits them. Ps. MTBaaisikilist, good luck with the proceedings. Please do not see most of the comments as a personal attack and thanks for having an open head and also giving all the insights from the other side.
  25. best is to show a photo, because with your description and with modern bike headsets, you will have a problem.
