The bush/bearing is pulling out of the frame. If by screwing the bolt back in does not press the bearing/bush back in, it could mean that the part that is bonded into your frame is breaking out.

Just check if you have combined shift/brake levers, because if so, you will need to get new seperate shifters aswell.

Take one of the names listed that use blank frames, then paint it and sell it at 400% profit. If it breaks in a year, they replace it and still make a huge profit, even if it breaks again. Now, buy that same frame as a blank and pay 1/5 of the price. if it breaks in a years time, buy a new one. you still save 3/5 of the branded version.

You see, there is the crux. It all depends on what you whant. If you whant a flasy name bike, with lifetime warranty and and the colours of the rainbow on it, then you are going to pay for it. If you know that in a year or 2 you are anyway going to be bored with the thing you have, buy blank, and you can have 3 different bikes in the lifetime of you brand bike.

My view aswell, you pay a third of the price, so expext a third of the service/lifetime. If it breaks, claim it, or take the 2thirds you saved in the first place and buy a new one. If you buy n Geely, do not compare it to a polo.

I was just going on what the OP said and it was not long out of warranty. Baught bike - April 2011 1st noted problem and service - end Jan 2012 2nd repair (temporary) - mid April 2012 This seems very borderline and I would still have recomended talking with the Magura Guys first. If this was a known defect and warranty was borderline, it could still have swung in the OPs favour. Just saying

Ok all respect to Johan for trying to help the guy and everything. But as soon as the technition noticed that the damper had broke, this should have been a red light, stoping all work and referring to warranty. This should be common practise with anything that carries a warranty.
