  1. Good job on getting weight off. One thing I would recommend is either macadamia or oat milk, those are both really nice in coffee. Soy anything is pretty terrible in my opinion!
  2. Yeah look its up to the others to adapt if they want to survive, its always good for the consumer. I wonder if SA will ever get Ikea? Personally I would rather be in AU or NZ and not have to think about that answer
  3. That is a really clever idea! I have heard Ikea furniture is really cheap, its pressed cardboard or something like that isnt it?
  4. Blum make REALLY nice hidden internal hinges that do what you are looking for. Im not sure which distributors have them in your area but these are the contact details for Blum SA. Blum South Africa (PTY) Ltd. 212 Katherine Street (16 Bowling Avenue) Kramerville, Sandton WENDYWOOD/JOHANNESBURG 2144 SOUTH AFRICA Phone: +27 11 4448118
  5. I havent but that could be really cool for a lot of users. Im very comfortable with Arduino code and built a lot of IoT projects with it, so its not such a bit deal to me. At some stage I will upgrade to a better board and possibly an enclosure if PETG doesnt meet my requirements anymore. I initially wanted to use the printer as stock to eliminate any possible issues relating to mods, its done well so far but there is always a bit more you can squeeze from Creality printers! Im actually quite keen on adapting a system like the CR-6 SE has, it has a limit type switch that the hotend is mounted to so it would be compatible with all hotend's.
  6. I still dont have a BLtouch, I dont really see a the need for one. I level once every few prints and most times dont need to change anything. I did have a really hard time levelling at first though because there wasnt space on the stock image with the Ender 5 to have the head move to the mesh positions and when you disabled steppers then the bed would drop. Upgrading to Marlin and disabling the boot splash screen gave enough space to enable the feature and its been easy since then.
  7. I like my bean to cup machine, once setup properly it makes a great coffee which is very consistent. I know its not quite as good as you can get doing everything manually, but its close enough and just requires pushing a single button when you are still half asleep!
  8. Its hard to resist upgrading right from the start with a new printer. I printed out all of the enhancements but avoided hardware upgrades for the first month or two to get everything running well. Teaching tech is great with how-to guides on modifications, Angus from Makers Muse is really good with designs and non-hardware related tips. AT the end of the day though, bed leveling is the most important part, you dont need to do it very often and when you have the bltouch fitted it will be an absolute breeze.
  9. My father in law makes us a loaf of sourdough every Sunday, that is the only bread I can make an exception for, it's that good. Part of my thinking was because of my neighbors, they have been vegetarian for the last 10+ years but they eat a ton of bread. They are all overweight but their son is obese, probably the heaviest kid in the school. That got me wondering about how much bread is in their diet. My brother has been vegan for many years and can munch a loaf of bread a day but still end up looking like Brad Pitt in fight club!
  10. You are going to make an interesting art piece out of the old frame right??!?!!?! If anyone can do something interesting with it, then I would think that person would be you!!
  11. I have noticed that a lot of vegans eat tons of bread, this often leads to putting on weight and them wondering why. Bread wrecks my stomach so I stay away from it, but Im curious as to whether its a staple for other people on plant based diets?
  12. Hahaha! Im surprised there wasnt a second comment from someone who does crossfit
  13. No buying of tools or no transporting portable tablesaws? Those Bosch saws are great, my brother in law has one and really likes it. The only downside is the strangely shaped mitre slot but it can be easily remedied with a carbide router bit and some patience.
  14. Strangely enough in my group of mates there was one guy who had an Apple watch, most of the guys said it looks "really girly" with the soft lines and square case. I dont really find that and I think the square display is more practical for seeing information.
  15. If you dont already have one, then a trim router is a fantastic tool. I use mine way more than my big router these days and they are very easy to make morticing jigs etc for. Is that an Amazon echo on the other shelf? We have one in the kitchen and my wife uses it daily to set timers when cooking or to turn lights on and off. Very useful little things.
  16. I didnt know the Fenix does that, but its handy info. I still think watches like the Fenix series and some Suuntos are better positioned than Apple watch. They do smart notifications, but more importantly have long battery life and proper workout modes. All Garmin needs to do is up their game a little in the smart functions.
  17. That was one really big advantage to the Apple watch for me, measuring oxygen saturation levels. For people with Covid it could be the difference between knowing when to go to hospital and not going in time.
  18. They really need to introduce a "normal watch" type mode, Suunto did it with the Android wear based 7. A mate of mine recently sold his series 6 after going away with his family for the weekend. He realized on the second day that it was flat and he didnt have a charger, and as a result it was completely useless. I can relate to that, the battery life is simply unacceptable to me.
  19. Im not getting an Apple watch until they reach at least 3 days of battery life. The idea of charging it every night doesnt sit well with me. Other than the horrible battery life, the watches are great.

    lol!!
  21. James is a weird guy but he has skills. His approach reminds me a bit of Chop with Chris, also hand tool exclusive.
  22. AvE is a skookum choocher, that guy makes me laugh. He has ridiculous amounts of knowledge around tools though, working in Canadian mines will do that. Jonathan Katz-Moses is incredibly talented, he has some really cool ways of doing things. I dont mind Chris Salamone, but I find his pace a little slow at times. Strangely I only recently found Bourbon Moth, he has some cool projects and some really bad dad jokes!
  23. That is a really good price for a great sander. I have been using the same one for a few years now and its a little champ.
  24. Teaching Tech is great, it seems most of the 3D printing Youtuber's I follow are Aussies. Chep is good too, I just find him to be a little drawn out with info and get annoyed with the slow pace.
  25. I know David(Iteachcoffee) was using one, if he uses it then its going to be a good device.
