  1. Hey now!
  2. It looks more like a raffle, but its for a good cause.
  3. I had to pull out some details on my post because I actually like my job, but from my observations there arent many independent insurers in these countries.
  4. Goat boats and SUP's are never fine Hahaha! the battle is almost as old as the toothpicks vs doormats one.
  5. I was surprised to see the insurance industry is quite similar in AU and possibly NZ, to what it is here. I have a pretty big client on that side of the world and while one of the team was working in the servers they noticed that all of the insurance brands they deal with are all just the same company. In SA its also pretty similar with a good chunk of insurers actually being the same company but different brands.
  6. What I dont get is why the setup is facing the wrong direction?!? I would absolutely flip that 180deg to take in that awesome view while suffering.
  7. Cast them in resin and get someone to turn a bowl from it. I think that would look pretty cool.
  8. I was a big wine drinker but since I started brewing my own craft beer I dont drink much wine anymore.
  9. Never used their bibs but had issues with other Merrel products not lasting very long. I might try them again if a deal is good enough but would never pay normal retail.
  10. I was about to go for the snip a few months back, my wife and I dont have kids and badly want to keep it that way. It was more to get her off the pill she has been on for the last 23 years and the adverse hormonal effects of it. The doctor suggested we go to her gynae and chat about IUD's as a non-surgical alternative. In the end we went with an IUD which lasts 5 years and can be removed at any time to reverse things. It took a few minutes to get put in place in the chair and that was that. Pretty decent option for if you dont want the worries but also dont want to go permanent.
  11. Literally everything I hand to my wife to look at after I have finished turning goes straight to her nose. If she likes the smell then she likes the piece! I had quite a lot of eucalyptus at one stage and that met with much approval. One of the pieces was a turned lampshade so when the bulb warms up that eucalyptus scent starts permeating the room.
  12. My father in law was given a few planks of Imbuia from a golfing mate. The smell when you are turning it is absolutely amazing, I still think its the best smelling wood and it sands to a glass like finish.
  13. That pic sums up every trip to any hardware store...
  14. When I first started woodworking my choices were either pine or meranti with meranti being the "hardwood" That stuff is horribly soft and its been really bad at holding up to light work without getting damaged. I will only use it for contrast these days and that is only if nothing else is available.
  15. Yeah me too, been following for a long time. Such a great approach to getting the job done.
  16. Their kit looks good but consistency is a big deal and I hate having to deal with returns on products. Will rather look at another brand when I need new kit.
  17. Its great for new buyers, I just think its hardly worth calling it a new model and the creating the hype to get people to upgrade.
  18. So lets see, they improved the calibration through software, because calibration is a software function. Then they put new feet on it. Now they are calling it a "new" trainer. Yeah naa mate that is marketing cool-aid if ever I have seen it.

    MotoGP

Man what a race!! That really was something special, super stoked about the result.
  20. Bob from I like to make stuff has the same car and also built an interesting storage solution for it. He has the build video on his youtube channel.
  21. Those guys look like they have a great job, pretty chilled about everything. I wouldnt mind their drive through hardware store though, talk about convenience!
  22. Scott Brown here... I really enjoy his channel.
  23. Lol that old gem!
  24. I was originally planning on making it timber but the cost was going to be too high for good hard wood. A softwood frame would need to be replaced at some stage and I quite like the contrast between the galvanized steel and wood.
  25. I have two opening gates on the other side that still need their cladding added, Im just a little concerned about weight as they are hinged. Im not sure how accurate it is but the accepted belief is that being able to see in is more of a deterrent than a concealed area that someone can get to and be hidden from the street.
