  1. Finally settled on a brushcutter on the weekend. Choice was between the Dewalt and the Makita battery options. Ended up with the Makita as it came with all the accessories I need as well as two extra free batteries. String, plastic blade, metal blade, harness etc all included. Some beast. Battery runs about thirty mins in thick vegetation and takes 45 mins to charge, so all set with 3 sets of batteries.
  2. Playing with mine it feels like a really quality product, like a leatherman, which many imitate but few match.
  3. Lol - you’ve started me down a dangerous path. Some quality of saw. Was wondering around our current neighbourhood yesterday looking for something to saw. Quite startling how good the silky is. Anyway, was looking at their website and videos last night and am now trying to think of reasons why I don’t desperately need a katanaboy.
  4. Mate, after all the struggles you’ve battled through and shared on this thread, this pic made a lump in my throat. Enjoy every minute.
  5. Arrived to collect my saw. Turns out their online stock level was wrong, so they only had the 210 in stock. Bought it. Nice piece of kit. Thanks for the recommendation.
  6. Appreciate it. Have ordered the 240
  7. Thank you. What blade length do you recommend on the Silky?
  8. Ja - makes sense. I was unclear in my post. I am buying both a brush cutter and a chainsaw. We’re trying to preserve what wildlife we can in our new place and plant to encourage more, so was thinking that it might be quieter with the battery options, but useless if I can only work for short time periods
  9. Thanks for sharing. I’m trying to choose a brush cutter and a chainsaw at the moment and can’t decide between cordless or petrol. The Dewalt cordless brushless 54V option seems good, but with 40 mins use on heavy bush with a 9mah battery, and new batteries running at £200, I might have to stick with petrol for now. Really struggling to decide. At least one battery can suit the chainsaw and the BC.
  10. Homemade rub the night before and then again before going on the smoker. I use mustard sometimes to help bind the rub, but doesn’t really make a difference. Once the ribs are ready (normally 5/6 hrs), I take them off and coat them in bbq sauce and stick them back on for 30 - 45 minutes. Used to make my own sauce but find most shop bought sauces pretty good now
  11. Had a hankering for some ribs on the weekend.
  12. Subject to correction, but I presume that they are sending a replacement watch, albeit a refurbished one. Are they charging you? If not, seems fair.
  13. Seems that you have missed yourself in the list there Matt. Thank you for your assistance as well.
  14. My wife won’t order steak in a restaurant. She said it is always disappointing compared to a steak at home.
  15. He looks like he’s in ridiculously good shape.
  16. Brilliant - thank you. I bought an impact driver for building fences and decking in the new house after watching a few YouTube vids that suggested that that’s where it really comes into it’s own.
