Unfortunately that is the general consensus these days. Buy globally and then complain as our local economies go through the floor. By local I mean the LBS, the butcher, the greengrocer etc etc. Historically, by supporting local stores who in turn support other local stores etc, then we have community and local growth. By buying everything for the cheapest possible price from international businesses, we do the opposite. Not saying you are wrong, just pointing out the inevitable decline of local retail and the centralisation of profit that results.
