  5. KOMAAN, jy hey@eddy my nie sommer so nie. Ek vestaan dit was egter minder barbaars in the laat tagtigs......????
  6. Boerseun, ek was vyf jaar op Helpmekaar maar my Afrikaans is klaarblyklik nie goed genoeg nie. Wat bedoel jy met "neg" ?

    Cricket......

I could not bring myself to watch the low-lights last night. Did we take wickets with no-balls? Who got a life and what has it cost us ?
  8. 95 turns around at the top of Breedts, 105 5 km further at the shebeen (not Saxonwold, but the other one)
  9. Anybody in the vicinity keen on doing a warm up ride from Calitzdorp to the top of Rooiberg pass and back on Friday?
  10. All I remember is thar Camper wasn't down, the Harrisons weren't flat and Polly's was farkin long.....
  11. Andrew just finished. C'mon Mrs Steer, less than 5 to go..
  12. Those are big days if you are carrying a pack, but I suspect that you are stronger than me

    Geek funnies

At the firm where I was responsible for IT, the second thing you would have done was realise that you could not hack the admin rights and the next thing you would have done is pack up your bag and return your access card.

    Rugby...

  15. Small town event that has been run for a number of years, perhaps in a different form and starting at the Spa. It has drawn on racers from the Garden route, Oudtshoorn area, Klein Karoo and further in the Western Cape to a cool little event. It used to overlap with the Calitzdorp Port festival and probably still does. Lekker vibe. I will go down for it.

    Rugby...

No problem At least we are only facing the All Blacks and not Japan.....
  17. I am today as stiff as the proverbial honeymoon piel. The last time I had to turn around and walk backwards up a flight of stairs was in Pietermaritzburg on 1 June 1985.
  18. You know, you are right. I should not make the mistake I made in my 20s when I went from no running (but national level rowing) to a 3:29 marathon in two weeks and two oceans a few weeks later. After three years of never running injury free I eventually gave it up for cycling and triathlon. I will start slowly and build up to 21 at the end of the year.
  19. I have joined the dark side. Having last put on a running shoe for anything but a walk with my dog in August 1992, my daughter inveigled me into joining her for the 5km parkrun around Rondebosh common this morning. 34:10 mins but at least I ran the whole way without stopping. Would Knysna half be to soon and is there a cutoff ?
  20. First CTCT, the Etape, now this. I was entered for all three..........
  21. Shoee, if that is Eerste Water the damage is signficant and the pass will be, no pun intended, unpassable, perhaps doable on a MTB bit no way of getting logistics to the top for a water table or first aid. Given what Meiringspoort will be like I see no alternative. People have died. http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/one-still-missing-after-meiringspoort-pass-floods-20170410 We had 26mm of rain in under 20 mins accompanied by winds that ripped branches off mature trees near there. I regret it, but 2018 will be a definate.
  22. It looks like the picture was taken perpendicular to the road. So maybe a 3m portage. Nothing to be concerned about I think.
  23. Nice. Are you going to fit a second bottle cage? It can get very hot on the climb and it may take more than 1 bottle to do it.
