  1. I was keen to see if DND was going to take up the offer of sponsored membership and actually show up tonight.
  2. I used to have an LC4 640 supermoto. I loved that bike, but it was expensive to maintain. I used it for commuting (it was a second bike which was only meant to be used every now and then but I used it more than the other one anyway; seriously fun!). It is vibey, and because of that stuff falls off. I had the front sprocket vibrate right off, brake lever fell off, little nuts and bolts just wouldn't be there when I'd look again, starter motor would intermittently stop working (and its a left foot kicker which takes some rewiring of your brain to get right) and I even had to replace the entire engine once as it was cheaper than repairing the internals... And this bike was fully maintained and looked after like a baby. That bike was a total money pit. It was noisy, impossible to ride for longer than an hour, hard to start, not very fast, not very frugal, not great to look at, and not very reliable. But I loved it. It taught me how to wheelie properly and was insanely fun to ride, no matter what the weather. All logic goes out the window and you ride on raw emotion. In the end it was stolen, which was probably for the best as I don't think I wanted to ever sell it.
  3. Congrats!! Enjoy it!
  4. There's nothing to think about. Buy it now!!

He was great last year but has been really disappointing this year. Same as Iannone.

Dovi was fighting from the first lap - why can't he always ride like that? Maybe he wouldn't be so far behind in points if he did...
  9. A colleague has one and I've done about 1000k's on it. For commuting its got to be up there with the greats. It really is fantastic - feels light and manoeuvrable, gets amazing economy and has enough zippiness to make it feel like a regular motorbike. Its a bit wobbly when you push it fast around corners, but if you ride it sensibly its more than adequate. I love the fake fuel tank storage too. Its certainly not a bike to give you a fizz in your jeanpant, but it has a purpose and it performs it exceptionally well.
  10. The Street Triple is SUCH a fun bike to ride, especially with the Arrow pipes on.

That was sublime! Especially the last lap after he already had pole in the bag. It was so unnecessary and risky - I seriously thought he was going to take a tumble on the last corner, and the way he shook his head below the screen as he crossed the line; I'd love to know what he was thinking!

When I saw Marc sliding around I was really hoping one of the others still had tyres left to catch up to him. But alas... Think there were two good passes all race.
  13. IIRC, you need to have the new master cylinder for the 4 pot calipers. The old reservoir (or piston - I can't remember) is too small. So this isn't a quick cheap upgrade for your existing brakes.
  14. I have XT M8000 on the one bike and Guide Ultimate's on the other. For me they're both good. They operate slightly differently but they're both powerful and I can modulate both at high speed with no issues. I'd say the Guide's are more outright powerful (both bikes are running 203/180 rotors) but that may just be in feel - I've never felt that the XT's are ever causing me to run on further than I want to be. I've ridden a bike with Cura's and they are also great. Good power and modulation. I'm not overly a fan of the long(er) levers but I guess that's a personal problem.
  15. So you need to have two different brake calipers? Flat mount at the rear and post mount at the front? That's not normal. Oversight in design?
  16. I was thinking the same thing. It wasn't that long ago where there were two planes which collided mid air and the wing came off and everyone parachuted to safety. Wonder why not this time.

I went to Village B - looked into all the spots before hand and decided this one was best. You get to see them coming, going around village (nice big S right in front of you) and blasting past next to you onto the straight. Can then also see them going around Becketts and have the big screen in front of you for the rest. It was between Village B and Becketts for me, and I watched the quali from Becketts and was glad to have chosen Village for the race. Stayed in the campsite there which was great, but not really enough food places. Ended up going out for chow. The on site party was really good though, as were the multiple camp parties around. I want to go back there now...
  18. I watched the first one on Netflix the other day after I saw it mentioned here. Now I can't wait for the next one!
  19. I have proper flat pedals on the enduro bike and I love them. But I also have normal SPD's on the XC bike. I have tried swapping them around as well. The conclusion - SPD's on the enduro bike are not that cool. I definitely don't feel as in control going down as I do with the flats. Flats on the XC bike are also great! I tried a few long rides as well and didn't really have an issue, but the SPD's are definitely better for that. The flats did make the XC bike feel more fun though.
  20. I saw Jacques and Richard on the road at the end of Stettyns. Gave a toot as I drove past. The weather was truly miserable, cold and raining with cloud all around.
  21. Stettyns has its first victim it seems... Congrats to MD!
  22. I can't find the original pic of this one, but I'd say its also fake. The scale of the ground (look at the car at the bottom) just seems off. Also the 'cloud effect' in front of the plane is a little too heavy. The engines are almost completely whited out in some sections near the edge. And lastly, I can't find a proper high resolution image of this in all of the internet. Surely if this was a real image the original photographer would have this somewhere?
  23. Here's the image without the jet.
  24. Weather is looking perfect for a Stettyns mission today. The dark side of me always wishes for a big cold front to pull in about now
