  1. Nice bike! Why are we limited to only certain models in SA? Even other brands don't stock everything. Who knows, give us the option and we'll create a market for you.
  2. I just read somewhere on the net it could be diabetes? :o http://www.the-master-runner.com/numbfoot.html
  3. I am running at the local parkie (trying to simulate trail running conditions) The shoe is a light hiking/backpacking shoe... something similar to this (pic below), just a bit older... Will a descent pair of trail running shoes sort out my problem?
  4. okay, so i have done a few sessions of running so far, nothing to write home about, and I can already feel a difference in fitness, and it helps with my biking a lot. One question, I am still suffering from severe pain in my shins and calves while running (at around 2km it sets in) - do I still need to train a lot more? Is this normal for a beginner? Does it go away if you get more fitter? It is worrying me, I can't run for 5km without stopping every now and then because my legs burn so much. What I have also noticed is that my right foot gets that pins and needles feeling (feels like my foot is sleeping) if I continue to run when the burning starts. Can this be my shoes? Is my running "technique" wrong? HELP PLEASE!!

  8. would Groenkloof then be a trail riding venue, right?
  9. Also bought some slime from sportsmans warehouse, only to find out that I can't get it into my tubeless tire? My presta valve does not have a removable core? Currently I have Stan's sealant in my tubeless, I believe...but doubt it will work forever.
  10. Thanks for the replies and advice. Between biking and running I should get a good workout and my fitness up.
  11. I just started with running, and man, I can't believe how unfit I am. I want to start doing trail running. At the moment I ride mtb over weekends between 20-40km and have also done a few events (35-40km). I feel cycling fit, but struggle with the running. This got me worried about my cycling. What training program would you recommend for a newbie trail runner? My goal at the moment is to try and run 3 times a week, doing a distance of 2.5km per run. I know this it's a short distance, but I would rather build up slowly until I can run 5km continuously. The 2.5km run takes about 20 min, and includes stretches of power-walking as my shins burn so much. I really would like to get running-fit. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  12. **** - MISSED THIS !! :o :o

  15. Hi guys, Thought I would share this with you, as mountain biking is a big passion in my life. I entered for a mtb video competition and would like your opinion/vote if you like it. (link below) My video is called "Another Saturday Morning", nothing special, but this how I would normally spend my Saturday mornings. This was my first stab at video editing - if you like it please vote for it. The venue is Groenkloof in Pretoria, an AWESOME ride!!!! 16. No idea
  17. "The all-new 160mm travel bike who enjoys long descents on gnarly trails and climbing back up to the top of the mountain The Slash is the direct replacement for both air and coil versions of this year’s Scratch. At 160mm it’s a burly ride that looks like it’s capable of doing everything a Session can but with a little more pedal-ability. Naturally there’s a DRCV rear shock mated to a plush Fox 36, two spec options (the x0-equipped 9 and x9/7-equipped 8), plus a bonkers Kermit-green paintjob which was universally loved. We can’t get too excited about it until we’ve actually ridden it but it certainly looked like it’s going to tick a lot of the big mountain boxes."
  18. thanks, think that would be the best bet.
  19. don't know? Would that correct the wobble? Seems like the damage has already been done.
  20. okay, so i got myself the Trek Fuel EX 7. Now my old Trek 4300 is just gathering dust in the garage. This is because of 2 bent wheels. I broke 1 spoke on both wheels during my last race. Now, my question is, what (cheap) rims can i get to replace the old ones? the bent wheels are : Shimano M475 disc hubs; Bontrager Camino rims.
  21. I heard somewhere there is a specialized concept store opening in Pretoria? don't know if this is true? Anybody got some info?
