  1. Sorry thought you were talking about axle type issues. The bearings on the rear wheel can be adjusted with the 2 nuts on the non drive side, for the inner one you will need a flat/thin spanner, and for the other nut a normal spanner. I adjust it while the wheel is in the frame and the quick released fastened like normal. Loosen the outer one, adjust the inner one until there's only a small bit of slack, and then tighten the outer one again. The front one I'm not sure, have not adjusted it yet.
  2. Same here, the rims were shipped with the correct config from Summit, he asked what config I wanted when I ordered.

Off topic a bit, I see Bruce Anstey is going to ride the road going RCV213 at the IOM this year, it's gonna be good seeing that thing go around there and hearing a V4 again!

Better bike maybe yes , unless they can't solve the motor blowing up issue. JL was lucky, if he did 1 less lap in FP, his engine would have blown up on the 1st lap ...

JL should thank HRC for making a bike that can't accelerate, that's the only reason he won on the week-end ... instead of making as if he won because he can battle now So Hondas troubles, is it electronics or the fact that they turned around the crank rotation?
  6. Thanks, yes I also think hiking has declined in the past couple of years, due to all the incidents in the huts and at night etc with the locals, though the serious hikers will head straight for the main berg in any case. I have often walked in the berg and thought the path I am on would be AWESOME for a mtb ride ...
  7. Where exactly is this, and is this on the little berg or on the escarpment proper? Looks awesome, would love to do this.

He was probably gently reminded to do that by his PR oke.
  9. The biggest advantage seems to be that is does not turn into a ball from co2. I see Stans 60ml sells for R60, the bigger the more you save obviously as Stans 950ml is R400.

The Honda is a POS out of the corners this year and has no acceleration, thus the only way to make up ground is on corner entry, thus over heating the POS Michelin front. There were ALOT of front end crashes yesterday. The 1 tyre rule is certainly NOT making the racing closer, JL cruising to victory by a country mile.
  14. Ja had the same back tyre problem in rocky places up here in Gauteng, when running non-snakeskin Schwalbe's front and back. The back took a beating and was leaking like a sieve from the sidewalls, but the front was fine. It's about the back wheel not always followingthe same line as the front , where one would try and avoid as much sidewall strikes.

The last one was when MM cut that wire on DP's bike ... so it's the era of the low side now. What a bunch of wusses.

Stoner had a huge slapper on the Honda at Motegi couple of years ago, which caused the pads to move away from the discs when he climbed on the brakes and went off. My CBR 1000 had an electronic damper on, it took away the worst shakes, but now and again it still shook quite alot, more than you would want over some rough pavement etc. at slow speeds. The idea was that the damper would become more and more restrictive as the speeds got higher. Most guys did not like the elec damper though in the tests. Best thing for a slapper ... open the gas and get the wheel off the ground. Not that your brain wants to do that once it starts ...

So do you guys think this 1 tyre manu rule is killing closer racing or not? Is the only purpose behind the 1 tyre rule costs? Rossi pulled a JL on JL, it was a dominant display that. At least MM grew some brains and listened to Nakamoto in to finish the race!
  18. Yup Satrix Resi up 40% in 3 months, thats a serious turn around.

He might have timed this move perfectly ... we'll see. VERY interesting, after saying over and over he will never leave Yamaha. Rossi played mind games, I'm sure they had an influence. If he can win on the Duc, he will surely rub Rossi's nose in it. In some way Rossi has made it easier for JL to succeed on the Duc, after all the changes they made during and after he left.

Will believe it once it's official and he wears a red sweater Regarding Yamaha pressure, Rossi was caught out by the Michelin front, as most of the riders have been at some stage during the last few months. Could have been that he pushed 0.001 % harder because he lost all those places at the start, and that was the difference between staying on and coming off. MM made the correct tyre choice and it worked well for him. Need to see how he goes the next couple of races as it's reportedly Yamaha dominated tracks. We'll see, with him anything is possible.

Not struggling with the Honda, struggling with the Michelins ... compound getting harder and harder for the damn Ducrappies, that's why he went for the soft rear yesterday and was actually not looking too out of sorts until the mistake. But I'm sure you know this.
