  4. typical safffa coward. @'dale ya bru he's awrite hay. A bit bruised and got of lightly with whiplash and some scrapes. Fortunately the truck driver was awake and stopped before he rolled over my pal. CCTV and a proper police would help greatly. But I think most SA drivers need counselling by a professional because the majority seem to have an inferiority complex
  5. pal of mine was knocked off hsi bke this morning in Muizenberg. Arsehole driver overtook a truck that was drivng patiently the cycling group. Arsehole then decide enough was enough and overtook the truck, then had to avoid an oncoming car and swiped my pal of his bike. Naturally the driver did not stop. I think its time to start carrying lead.
  6. only available to members of that blog
  7. glad I never sold my Thudbuster. May still find a use for it
  8. oh I see, so a happy giraffe tried to head butt two morons....
  9. yes thats true but lets not let this thread get that far off topic. Stick to this case. there's a lot of negative results from the law to use as examples of how phuqwits like mister silver bakkie driver get away with criminal activity. Hence protest rides, or just protests in general need to be made to get the point across that we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour in our society.
  10. how does rape stats relate to the courts?? where cases are tried and evidence exists, convictions happen. That there is a general problem with the SA males attitude toward women there is no doubt.
  11. actually in the eyes of the court, you're wrong. Very wrong. The police and courts take assault on women very seriously. Where there is clear evidence, convictions are usually heavy. Any bruising is viewed as Assault with intent, whether he slapped her around or just shook her.
  12. cyclists being on that road is not the problem. The problem is drivers and their *** attitude coupled to ******* enforcement. sure they can sit behind a camera but do real police work...forget it.
  13. good rule, will making passing easier and safer. If you can't ride with 580mm flat bars then go ride DH
  14. bollocks, thought this was about Stratocasters

  17. I got em straight from Shimano Europe....
  18. I don't think Coolheat even made the cups available but I did buy a set when I was in Europe. But generally I've never needed the cups. They tend to outlast the cones and bearings by a long shot There's DT and then there's DT. Nothing less than the 240s is worth considering. Maybe I got lucky on two sets but they'v held up well for me. Never tried the 340 because those seals definitely were made in kindergarten and the freehubs........(Spits)

Lots of Opi's with broomsticks on the Zandvlei. I may evn get myself a Laser or Hobie 16 next year. Would love tgo get back into the sailing scene with water so close by. AC72 are amazing. I hope the Kiwi's take the cup back to the Huaraki gulf, far away from those cheating overpaid Aussies masquerading as Yanks
  20. Cup and cone bearings should not need the cups replaced unless the hub has been severely abused. I am yet to wear out a set of XT's or XTR's and they've ben through the washing machine a few times. Not sure if Shimano still makes the cups available as a spare part but that was certainly the case for many many years. I've owned Hope hubs and they do go through bearings. since the bearing cannot be preloaded. Any play in th bearing cannot be adjusted out and its just a downhill spiral of wear from there on. The reason the DT Swiss 240S and Chris King hubs get good reviews is because of the good labyrinth seals that offer zero drag whilst protecting the bearings from dirt ingress. A large portion of Shimano dissers also tend to not care for their hubs because they perceive them to be cheap OEM parts. They get jet washed, never get serviced or adjusted and are expected to be sealed for life. Bling hubs get babied everyday..... food for thought
  21. XT or XTR would get my vote. Can't beat cup and cone bearings. Alternatively DT Swiss or Chris King but then you need to raise the budget bar higher
  22. so besides the bling colours.........what makes SUperstar or Hope hubs for that matter better value than the SRAM X9's?
  23. any bicycle shop in cape town deals with cape cycle systems. Just call someone
  24. Very soon American's will be sueing their parents because the plaintiff was born stupid
