Eish, the one time I want to look at trail maps and the website is closed for the redesign 😛
Are all the trails fairly dry at the moment or some best to avoid still?
Keen for a moderate 30km 500m-ish route and haven’t ridden much lately except for a few Meerendals.
Thinking Hoogies —> Conties or perhaps Conties —> Faircape if trails ok.
Txs 🙏🏼
Called an eMtb. M = mountain.
/mods you can close the thread now, subject question definitively answered
Hi fellow hubbers
Supply chain madness...I can't find any range extenders for my Specialized Turbo Levo SL. Doing a 3 day race on 1st of April and wanted to buy one for peace of mind. I will definitely not use in on day 1 - so perhaps only day 2 and 3 (but maybe not even).
So my offer: rent your battery to me for 2 days usage at a price you're happy with (and I'll even pay a security deposit :))
Western Cape area.
Thanks!
Naked does not insure e-bikes (stumped why not, just exclude the motor from claims, but whatever 🤷♂️).
57 minutes and counting for JaSure's bot to reply to my question, guess the bots are also tired after another year of lockdown. Anyone know if they insure e-bikes?
Thanks!
I completely lost interest in Strava over the years. But yeah, stats are cool and definitely is a motivator to a lot of us.

The "Missing link" corridor ?
I rode it yesterday .... that first drop has some nasty loose pebbles ..... that thing is going to be "fun" by the end of the holiday traffic ....
the one from top of Visserhok to Contermans - steep climb up to Conties and off-camber downhill back...almost karked myself going down there 😃
I rode Contermans for the first time in maybe 2-3 years - wow! Great condition, some new pieces added, it was a blast.
That link from Meerendal is a pig though 😬
Wow, that's very sad. Bought a bicycle from him 3 months ago. Great guy. RIP

Bogus did 2 beautiful carbon resprays for me. He also does carbon work. You can check his work on Instagram.
Txs for the replies everyone, appreciate.
Thread hijack...I have an out of warranty Garmin Approach G6 - working perfectly except for the power button plastic housing that tore so unable to power on/off.
Was told by Garmin Support to hand it in at a Sportsmans Warehouse (Cape Town) to send in for assessment. They want to charge R500 "handling fee"! ????
Do all the SWHs charge the same (another thread referred to R100 charge) or is there any other way to get it to Garmin? Or even a private repair shop (suspect it only needs a back cover replacement)
Emailed Garmin - still waiting for response.
Thanks
Thanks, informative thread. I recently bought one of those Namgear buckets with all the cleaning stuff and brushes...first wash yesterday.
(quite a satisfying experience to take some effort and do it properly - before I use to only hosepipe or take to LBS)
Quick question about the polish, I couldn't make out from the instructions, do you polish the carbon frame as well?

Interesting thread. After years on Strava, most of us on our MTB group rarely use it anymore - or if used, then mostly as an afterthought. Nobody subscribes and everyone records their rides on Garmin Connect.
Personally, I changed my settings to Private default as in lockdown I sometimes go for a quick ride during the day, but don’t necessarily want my colleagues to see. Also don’t like the fact that you can’t unfriend/block people following you.
Strava has become mostly meh. For me at least.
So to the OP’s question...yes and no ????
Oh no! Not innovation! Not change! My poor Strava KOM's!
Yes they belong. They're in the spirit of true mtb riding anyway. Chill chat and rip it on some ST on the way down with your mates.

This was the best shorter distance (30km) race I've ever ridden!
Tough climbs, technical downhills, awesome singletrack.
i suspect some riders will moan about being too technical for a 30km race, please don't change anything for next year it was perfect!
PS event organising afterwards needs some attention...no beer/wine...coffee took for ages (old story).
Not wanting to derail the thread, but in what way is addiction not a choice? Apart from rare cases like alco-fetal syndrome and unwittingly taking a substance? You start doing drugs by deciding to take it....
You don't decide to get addicted though...

Thanks Morne. Love the new branding, looks great!
Sounds like Hoogies and Conties is the way to go, thank you.
One more question, is the code still 5…?
