  1. I bought a 2nd hand Fox 32 from a fellow hubber, but the Lockout switch was missing... Solution I cut a piece and shaped a of Aluminium removed the spring under the CTD cap and used the cable Clamp screw to clamp the piece of aluminium. Not the most elegant, but it works well and instead of having 3 positions you can have it anywhare betwen Lockout and Full Open. I can make you one for free and you can collect or pay postage
  2. Glad she is OK and back home... This reminds me as Scuba Diving saying "Plan the drive, and dive the plan" Also for the cyclists "Plan the ride, and ride the plan"... Even when I am ridding to the Cradle, my wife asks : Which route? With who? what time will you be home? Put your WhatApp live location on... I often for get this one.
  3. Sorry for this.. Glad your're OK on the outside. please go and see someone for the inside.
  4. Hennops Trails has a flowing 35Km trail that is super fun, but does not compare to GMBN in terms of drop offs. https://www.hennopstrails.co.za/hiking-trail/

I have seen grown men cry at this race ... Literally!
  6. When selling, I have always waited for the money to be 'Visible' in my ABSA account (see the Transaction and Balance in my Banking App). My understanding is that when it's 'Visible' it means it cleared BUT I might be wrong. I have never tried to transfer it to another account like KarooRyder suggests, but maybe will do this in future I heard of a story of a where someone (Business account) sold Stock to a NEW Customer for R28,000 Received Money (Transfer 1*) (Reflected in the Account) Dispatched GoodsReceived Money again (Transfer 2*) (Reflected in the Account) Money was supposedly "accidentally paid by the wife" Seller reversed Transfer 2 (Transfer 3**) Next day Transfer 1 and 2 were were missing from the account The seller lost the Stock and the Money ... double whammy !!! * I am not sure if Transfers 1 and 2 were bounced cheques or EFT's ** I am not sure if Transfer 3 was a Bank Reversal or separate EFT I bought a fireplace from him (private sale) through Gumtree... needless to say he would only take CASH... and I fully obliged.
  7. Hi Shawn, Apologies for all the questions... Your opening post says "Provided me with proof of payment from ABSA and money reflected." are you taking the POP as money reflecting or did you go onto you online Banking and see the money reflect? And then when you printed a Bank statement it was not there? Was the "Immediate Payment" from ABSA to ABSA or from ABSA to another Bank? As mentioned before was the Bike advertise here or on Gumtree/OLX/facebook market place? ** Reason I am asking so many questions is I bank with ABSA and am wondering how safe they are now
  8. Does you Bank statement show the Deposit and a Reversal or was the deposit missing the following day?
  9. Hi Shawn, Sorry for your Loss. was the Payment made via Cheque (that bounced) or EFT? was the money reflecting in your account as Cleared or uncleared? Thanks for the heads up.

  11. I have been a buyer and a seller, where buyers have responded in different ways Phone Call, SMS or 'Dibs' on the advert (when comments were still allowed on Adverts #Petition: Bring Back the Classifieds Comments ). I have lost some good deals where I was the 'First respondent'. and also had to apologize when to I concluded a deal on the phone to someone and afterwards saw an email or SMS that was sent prior to the phone call. However I have never 'held' an item for someone on an 'Oil rig', no matter how much they insisted that they will take the product.
  12. BMW F560 GS! Oops ... I don't see it in your list of options... I would go with the Santa Cruz.... Comfort over speed
  13. Were you taken by Taun/Adverture Cycles or someone else?
  14. A mate of mine did it this way. Cut the seat post off and then very carefully cut a line down the seat post to compress it and then remove it. Be patient and good luck. please post pics of the progress
  15. This is why service my own bike. I got tired of paying someone else to make simple mistakes on my bike and having to fix them myself anyway. Servicing you own bike also helps with trail-side (or road-side) repairs . ie knowing what the problem is an how to correct it.

  23. I am not 100% sure about Cash Crusaders, but if you Google the OP cell number(left as that contact on for the stolen bike) you will find a bunch of Gumtree adverts... I was going to call him to inquire about one of the coffee machines he has for sale and ask him if he could send it to JHB (Pro-Bono) so I could 'Try-before-I-buy'.... when he said 'NO', I was going to say shout 'That's bad customer service!!!!!!"
