  1. Years ago I had this GSXR SRAD of mine in Streetfighter guise, was a way more comfortable in traffic but still to nippy though.Toying with the idea of a small 400cc streetfighter build, enough power for whatever and you can make it as comfortable as the custom seat you put on.
  2. Sat in the Cape Town traffic for the first time in years yesterday afternoon and noticed that the Honda NC is quite a popular choice for commuting. Although I've never been much of a fan of the Honda NC and Kawasaki Versys looks wise there is no denying that is a great choice for a commuter. The comfortable seating position and power delivery of these bikes make them great in traffic. I currently commute on my GSXR 750 and its a horrible commuter, the hunched over seating position and where the power is delivered is not designed for this. And I have to drop my boy of at school aswell. When my DR is fixed I'll start commuting on that , pretty sure it will be way better.
  3. Looks interesting. Will check out some more of his stuff.
  4. Congrats, the Versys is a great bike, a real sensible choice that you can't reallygo wrong with. Hope you enjoy many happy miles on it.[emoji1690]
  5. Hey guy's I know I'm not suppose to post this here but since my phone has the Tapatalk App on it refuses to go onto the desktop site and connect me to the classifieds. I am not going to be able to do the CTCT this year so I'm selling my entry. Will see if I can get onto the desktop site tomorrow at work.
  6. Like these?
  7. Managed to get a ride in before it got hot this morning, planned a chilled "klim oor di plaas hekke" ride but it started so well that I stuck to the open road and dirt highways.
  8. I've tried and tried, but it just doesn't want to sink in.
  9. Took my boy fishing this afternoon, since the town dam is only about 800m from our new house we rode there with the bikes. After some time and no fish caught we headed to the other side of the dam where there's a short XCO track and my boy could do a couple of laps while I chatted to a mate who was also there with his kids.
  10. Braggat![emoji12] What a beauty mate, I would be able to behave on a monster like that![emoji1690]
  11. But do you have blisters on the soles of your feet.........[emoji12]
  12. With time comes wisdom and you learn when it's worth it and when not......
  13. Did about 4km this morning and decided to throw in the towel. Spent the whole week on ladders at work that left me with small blisters on the soles of my feet in the exact place where the contact patch of the cleat is. Will see if I have a pair of flats to fit and try a tekkie ride tomorrow.
  14. Goes to show that not all of humanity is hopeless yet.[emoji1690]
  15. I baught my lights at a moerse discount a couple of years ago when they changed agents (I think) and the previous guy's sold their remaining stock at ridiculous prices, so I kinda saw them as disposable.
  16. Looks like we're gonna have to draw straws for that job.....[emoji6]
  17. Those lights are excellent, they give great visibility even in daylight and as they are rechargeable you don't have the hassle of halving to buy batteries all the time. Unfortunately the silicone straps don't last that long though. I've got two of the longer one's like yours and two of the square ones all still working perfectly but straps broken.
  18. Woke up at 5:30 this morning with the wind howling outside and decided f@ck it. Got a message around 9am from a buddy asking if I already went out for a ride or still planning one as his keen to go riding. Think this was karma telling me I need to do something before the funride world champ's. Kobus wanted to go big or go home so we headed up to Stettyn Dam. The wind was absolutely horrible, we had a headwind for half the ride to the kloof and then halfway up the kloof the wind was back on full form from the front again. Kobus conceded early on that he didn't think he was fit enough for the ride and ended up wheel sucking for about 60% of the ride. Eventually he asked me if I could call my wife to come pick us up with the bakkie as he was totally knackered and we still had 20km's to go. Still a fun day out and even under the conditions I enjoyed it, especially having some company for the first time in a while.
  19. That is beautiful, I'm planning on building something later this year towards next year, but stuck between a caferacer/brat bike, similar to this, or a hooligan streetfighter. Best to sleep over such an decision.....[emoji848]
  20. That's the problem, with all these great views I tend to go further and harder than I should to admire them.[emoji28]
  21. My XTC knows where all the good views are at.....[emoji12]
  22. Hit the road a bit late this morning on account of home responsibilities. As per usual these days I set out without much of a route planned and just rode where the wind and the view's took me.
  23. I regard those KLR's in the same light as my DR and my Giant XTC, not necessarily the best tool for most jobs but a throw anything at it go anywhere tractor.[emoji123][emoji1690] Hoping to also see Swartberg on my DR in 2019, absolutely beautiful and unique ride.[emoji108]
  24. Ai Bennie, dit is nou n gatslag! Hoop jy geneus sommer gou, sterkte. [emoji106]
  25. Lekker man, been here all day since 8am. Weather is still beautiful. [emoji108]
