XCO has the potential to be bigger than Marathon and DHI. We just need a little more support of the events. Perhaps a few events with shorter race distances/less laps to encourage the people to give it a go. Also, we need the kids involved. It is, after all, an Olympic discipline!

Stupidity knows no bounds. Saw a cyclist this morning on his bike in the Mother City with no helmet. I blasted my hooter at him and pointed to my head to mean his helmet. He gave me the finger. Idiot.

That same thing has happened in 2012 or 2013 with a BIKE BRAND in South Africa. I remember it was all over The Hub. I hope your problem is sorted out now... Best to get an Internet/IP detective on the case too, to track the IP address and send some boys around to physically shut them down!

How's about the Momsen SL929? It must be very quick: Nico the German in Cape Town won gold in the World Champs in PMB and Rourke Croeser raced it before he got the new full suss bike from them... Very quick, I'd say!

Have a look on YouTube for a few guys such as Dan MacAskill doing crazy things on carbon road bikes, and then you're doubts will be allayed for your bike on a short 2km of gravel...

I am in love with the Momsen Bikes values. And, a proudly South African bike brand too. Lekker! I missed getting my paws on the SL929 by a few days... Damn, my flu kept me away from the computer and I missed it. Seems there are still other good deals to be had. What do you reckon for serious XC and marathon racing - hardtail only - from Momsen Bikes?

Many of the top riders still use hardtails in the Epic. As none of us are in that league, and the punishment your body will take after a few days in the saddle, perhaps a full suspension machine is the answer. But, your Scott RC, like most other carbon hardtails, has a bit of squish in the chainstays... It is a tough question when one thinks it through...

A top news item on THe Hub: the UCI has released broadcast figures for the World Cup events held in Pietermaritzburg. The number of hours aired around the world, on the internet, is pretty much par for the course. What gets to me is that SuperSport only aired a couple of events... European TV channels broadcasted the event LIVE. Surely SuperSport could have done a bit more work to support a international event held locally?

Eish... I have the same problem. I am also looking for the same answers. I ride everyday, but some days I can only manage 5km. It is odd: I feel good when I head out on the road, but after that first short climb (riding slowly to warm up) I seem to hit a wall! Any suggestions would be great!
