  1. Does WPCA still have problems "seeding" riders for winter league??
  2. Doubt it. Im willing to give my entry to a friend as I wont be here, but they dont want to do it.
  3. I blame this all on strava WRT establishing ones FTP, would it be better to do it on my road bike with a power meter or on a wattbike/indoor trainer?
  4. Hey Dirtypot, Nate was the rider in the Team Atlantic kit, I conveyed this post to him.
  5. I had Mavic Ksyriums and now have fulcrum racing quatro. Ive been quite impressed by the fulcrums
  6. This is what IF is all about. Its more meal timing than anything else
  7. I think that intermittent fasting can be done while on low carb, but it is dependant on your riding goals. Ive done low carb but the moment intensity is ramped up it was a struggle. I then reverted back to taking in carbs from fruit and vegetables and it helped me, as they are lower in calories as well, but allow me to get enough carbs to train at a higher intensity. I have done fasted ride of up to 4 hours before, but this is the day after consuming high carbs. I reckon try a few things to see what works for you and make sure it is something you can sustain for the long term.
  8. Its more than 16 hours. Something in the region of 48-60 hours, granted you get enough protein in the eating window. Secondly, your body wont use muscle if you are active, but if you are in active, muscular atrophy will occur i.e use it or lose it principle. The bro-science of breaking down muscle is attributed to supplement companies selling their products.
  9. I use fat secret. I find it a bit better than my fitness pal because is has alot of south african products on its database. As for feeling stuffed, the chicken and veggies do this. For lunch I usually have an omelette with 4 egg whites and 1 yolk, a cup of mushrooms, 1 chicken breast and a whole avo. Gives me about 900 calories, this is at about 1pm. I am so full after this that I usually eat at 6-7pm and I eat anything from 1300-1600 calories. Best of all I am still in defecit, yet feeling full.
  10. Their older videos will probably be more relevant, as thats when they also started IF
  11. Been doing this for 2 years. The first couple of weeks are a challenge, but once into it, it is very easy. Been doing the 16 hour fast, so last meal is at 8pm and fast gets broken the next day at lunch time. Before I used to eat on rides longer than 3 hours during the fasting window, but now I can do 3 hours of a relatively high intensity fasted. This is my own experiment and i started trying out various things. I will say that Intermittent fasting has helped with weight loss big time. Try watching the hodgetwins, although they are more focused on the weight lifting side of things. https://www.youtube.com/user/fastingtwins Wether it is anecdotal or scientific evidence, people will always find fault with someone elses eating habits/plans/diets....as the hodge twins always end their videos..."this is all just advice, do whatever the *&@#$ you wana do"
  12. Ive been doing Intermitent fasting for 2 years now. The first week was challenging, but its now the norm. Since combining IF and cycling ive dropped 20kgs without a strict eating plan. Its helped me big time with weight loss and has improved my cycling performance drastically. I eat at 12pm, 4pm and 7pm. During the 12 hour fasting period you can drink coke zero, black coffee with no sugar and chew sugar free gum if you really struggling to fast
  13. My R120 csa membership (hollard group cover) covered my medical expenses after my training ride crash which was close to R2000.
  14. For R120 per annum why does everyone bitch and moan?
  15. I'm keen on a set of 38mm rims only.
  16. ax-lightness U 24T sub 800g tubular wheelset.
  17. I read somewhere that Doug Ryder says Jaques Janse Van Rensburg will definitely be there as they want the SA champ in le tour
  18. Im considering getting rims and having them built on some chris king R45 hubs....HOPEFULLY.....but I also want a power meter LOL
  19. Ah dammit. Well at least I helped a friend out who needed a saddle
  20. So I purchased this saddle from flyxii when I still had my Giant TCR. I crashed and got a new scott foil and found out that Oval rails dont fit thr Foils seat clamp post. So I waited 3 months for nothing LOL. I gave it to a friend and will report back about what he has to say, but on first inspection it looks really good and solid. Very light at 113grams.
  21. New Scott Foil 10 Frame. Everything except the wheels were bought from fellow hubbers
  22. It must be hectic seeing that chris willemse is selling generators LOL http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/anditiger-topfoord-n5000-petrol-generator-25-kv
  23. I got 780m when plotting it on strava...How accurate that is, im not sure
