  1. I don't think so as put it on and took it off a good few times before tightening on for good and each time I checked the threads and they seemed good. Also turned it first by hand a good few times until I couldn't anymore and checked from the top it looked good and straight.
  2. That's exactly what I'm talking about. It just doesn't sit flush and move all the way down on the hub to where it should stop. Ypur seems to stop wjere it should but my cassette doesn go all the way on the hub to where it should stop.I've tightened it as tight as I can and that's where it sits. All gears working perfect and all seems aligned nicely. Will try take a pic a little later
  3. Difficult to take a photo as it's on the hub now. I've just left it and put the wheel back on the bike, new chain and and chain and to my surprise, no skipping gears, not adjustment needed and all seems to spin perfectly.
  4. Hi All, Installed a new GX 11 speed cassette on a new XD driver hub. Tightened it as tight as I could and it's a few mm from sitting down flush. What could the issue be? I'm at the point of just leaving it as I've taken it off and put it on so any times I'm gatvol. Will I now have shifting issues or will a few adjustments of the RD be enough? Thanks
  5. I've dealt with the Landlord a good few times and he's very nice and open to things being fixed. I'm one of those that will treat it as my own and never get stuck into anything that requires a heavy amount of work or needs a professional, but get what you saying. I drilled into a radiator pipe in the lounge wall (stupid place to run it as its a perfect spot for pictures) and water pissed out everywhere and down the wall onto the kitchen ceiling that left a large water stein. Told the Landlord and he advised of things i can do myself to fix it so hes open to those sort of things. All i want to do is cut a small piece of ceiling away to see what the issue is and if its a simple fix or requires a professional.
  6. The Top floor has a Roof access but only to the top ceiling. The second floor has no access because is really a floor rather than a ceiling so the only way i can see to get access is to try cut a square out and see what if i can see what the issue is. As we are renting, it would be the Landlords responsibility but i would rather try myself to see if i can find the issue and fix it and then whatever cost i incur will pass on to the Landlord rather than get someo-one at this point. If i need to get someone out then will discuss with the Landlord.
  7. We rent a 3 level house in the UK where there is no access to the ceiling on the second floor. When the central heating is on, there is a dripping noise that sounds like it comes from the corner of our bedroom that is on the second floor and i have no means of accessing it. Assuming there is just wooden beams with ceiling boards and no way of actually getting into it. Now there are water pipes from the radiators that flow through the house and i suspect on of them goes through the ceiling making a noise, perhaps it bangs on something while water gushes through it. I say this because there is no damp on the ceiling at all to suspect a water leak but its a definitive drip sound. Perhaps its dripping on the beam and doesn't make it way to the ceiling board, i don't know. Its quite annoying as you hear it very well and its only when the heating comes on. Any idea how i can see what it could be? Maybe just cut out a piece of ceiling in the spot i think it is?
  8. Not the best pics but extracted these from a video, but also because i was going to fast This was Grenoside Woods, Sheffield. Really enjoying this place. Get a little more confident but there is some really big stuff there. Steve Peats playground.
  9. Dealt with them many times and always received exceptional service, products and deals.
  10. Ok do I've manually updated the watch as per instructions but it still keeps asking for an update. Any idea what else I can do?
  11. For what's it's worth, I've used a shim on a giant dropper post and no issues at all.
  12. Im still getting daily updates for my Fenix 3, anyone have any idea how to stop this?
  13. Yes, that collar is split and I've tried to give it a hammering with a rubber mallet and hard plastic thing so as not to damage the stantion. After a few bangs, it went in a little further but that was it, no more. I've given up now and bought that cheap Brand X dropper from chain reaction cos I've just splashed out on some wheels and need to service fork and shock so cash is tight.
  14. Ooops, was adamant it should come off so gave a yank and got the outer case off, spent a good while getting it cleaned and now I cannot get the silver collar back in the outer case. As you say, pressfit. I think ive buggered it up now :-(. Well that was a lesson learnt.
  15. I've managed to get the cartridge out but how do i get the station out of the post to clean nicely? Do I just need to yank it out?
  16. Just took it apart and the cartridge itself still seems quite smooth.
  17. Hi All, On today's ride my giant dropper started getting sticky and very difficult to drop down, getting stuck a few times. Took it out to see if could clean it and then replace the cartridge but noticed some streaks on the station. Is it worth trying to get it functioning again or is it doomed?
  18. Uk based. Wheels will be going on a Trance Advanced 27.5, no hurry really and the Stand just seemed the middle ground in terms of price.
  19. Only used CRC as a link, also, living in the UK, they are local to me :-). Will be buying elsewhere which are cheaper than CRC.
  20. Went for a weekend away years ago to Mankele, bike, beer, braai, camp...in that order.. It was awesome and amazing riding. Some big Climbs but the view is worth it.
  21. Hi Yall, Want to upgrade my wheelset for something a little beefier. Currently have the Giant PTRX-1 wheels that have an internal diameter of 21mm and the shoes they wearing are Magic Mary 2.35 front and currently Rock Razor 2.35 but changing the RR to my Maxiss High Roller 2.35 for the winter. Im thinking of the Stans Flow S1 as they have a slightly wider internal diameter. 29mm and a seem reasonably priced. Don't need any wider as think my tyres will be too small for too wide rims. Will this be a worthy upgrade? Make much difference? Match my current tyres? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/stans-no-tubes-flow-s1-mtb-wheelset/rp-prod163035 Thanks
