  1. When I last spoke to ZRW they were happy to accommodate, just check their calendar. (Or perhaps contact them again to get the latest http://www.zwartkops.co.za/ )
  2. How many riders participated?
  3. Thanks for a GREAT event! The haters definitely missed something good. Was great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Fantastic marshals, wp's, route, beautiful medal etc! Will definitely be back!
  4. What time gains do you get with these type of performance shoes?
  5. In 2017 I saw quite a couple of H runners in my F seeding pen, and they pushed their way through right up to the front of F against the ribbon. (There was also a 'modified' C on the road, couldn't see what it was before.)
  6. Fellow club member is looking to exchange his unworn M Comrades T for a L, even if it has been worn. Tx
  7. I think it is this form (s)? http://www.huaweivenicemarathon.it/en/venicemarathon/runners-area/registration/health-form-vm Also see http://www.runninginitaly.com/medical_certificate.php MEDICAL_CERTIFICATE_ENG.pdf italian_english_medical_certificate.docx
  8. Can someone enlighten me as to why the Comrades countdown is always to the day before?
  9. Agree 100% with that, entrants need to adhere to a 'code of conduct' with regards to participating in buses when they accept the T&C of a race, e.g. keep 2 - 3m open at one side, limit the use of whistles, etc etc. In general - consider other runners (especially at water points) (Personally I think some bus passengers are temporarily 'brain-dead' while running in a bus, it is as if the thought process has stopped ) There will be a whole plethora of buses this year, 14 of them between 10:00-12:00! http://www.modernathlete.co.za/stories/meet-your-2018-comrades-pacesetters
  10. Over the years I have sometimes taken Imodium / Loperamide ~2h before starting Comrades, any advice against this? Thanks
  11. 16y passed between #4 (2001) and 5 (2017)
  12. Going for #6. 3 Up, 2 Down, 1 DNF, 1 DNS.
  13. One of the most horrible invention ever. I really hope the bus drivers get a good talk-to before this year's Comrades.
  14. Take along a fairly thick carton (box) to sit on before the start. (Which you can dispose of responsibly before / when you start running)
  15. I am an ACRW member, very happyPM me if you want more details etc.
  16. Food for thought (and planning!) - for those of us with slow Comrades QF's: https://www.coachnorrie.co.za/2018/05/04/1065/ (Read icw map http://www.comrades.com/marathoncentre/club-details/8-news/latest-news/409-2015-route-map )
  17. Seems like another cool overcast day at Loskop tomorrow. (I am getting a bit concerned that if we get a scorcher at Comrades, some of the runners heat acclimatisation won't be ideal as many of the mar's & ultra's this year were in cool, overcast or rainy conditions. Ref Akasia, Deloiite IIRC, Om Die Dam, Loskop, and many of the other shorter races (21-32) in Gauteng over the past couple of months.)
  18. No good deed will go unpunished But honestly - I can see they were actually helping you (and 15 runners out.) They could have refused as they did send the consent letter out on Friday. At least now they will know who collected the numbers, in case of enquiries?
  19. Personally I believe cramps are primarily caused by (increased) training load, and that mineral supplementation will only cover the minority of cramping issues. I see it as 'Demand vs. Supply' (which is the actual physiological capability at that stage.)
