  1. How does the extender's longer moment arm affects the safe static and dynamic load on the towbar? (What it your vehicle's tow bar vertical load rating?)
  2. Vomiting can be a symptom of both over- and dehydration as well. (PS - Experience has taught me - if the water tastes off with the first small sip - spit out and discard.) I suppose products like Milton are still mixed in?
  3. I am not sure if the basemap is routable? You would probably require a routable Southern Africa map (I presume you are using it in SA) (From what I remember this was pre installed on my 830 - did you buy the unit in SA?)
  4. Are the correct maps ticked?
  5. Personal opinion, don't get hang-up on gels - you can get by perfectly on what is on offer at the tables - but have a plan around how you will use it etc. (In fact, one can do Comrades on very few carbs if you have conditioned yourself in the preceding months.) BTW - Baby potatoes etc can actually be a plan, it is working for maybe thousands of runners Use the marathons and ultra's leading up to the Comrades to experiment, test and refine your nutrition plan.
  6. Or check the specified safety standard perhaps. https://www.imperial.ac.uk/news/256314/cycle-helmet-safety-ranked-imperial-research/
  7. Not quite fitting the topic - but interesting nevertheless: Christine Kalmer's appeal rejected in road race injury case
  8. No - normally to be found in the suburbs of Centurion & Pta. (Solo) Roadies sometimes, but from my experience more prevalent under MTB-ers, and more often than not riding in groups.
  9. Why do some riders (MTBers?) ride with absolutely blinding front flashing lights? (Higher intensity is not directly proportional to safety etc - there is an optimum point of intensity. I have seen some some lights on bicycles that have more intensity than vehicle's main beams on bright - that is just stupid.) It is in no one's interested to be blinded, and it has been shown that a flashing light can disoriented oncoming traffic, make it difficult to situational place the object, etc.
  10. For one - to 'Kobus se Gat' and back. (You can also check Strava's heatmap eg)
  11. Agree! Thanks Chris
  12. I already emailed support@strava.zendesk.com asking if Strava can make it a user selectable option, Maybe if more users email them they will get the msg
  13. France's record holding marathon runner banned
  14. GPLAMA think so...
  15. Not sure how it differs from the Dual - but after some years no issue with this approach with my HRM-Dual.
  16. I rinse my Garmin strap properly after every activity, and chuck it in the washing machine every 6w or so. No smell no issues. Will soaking it in eg vinegar for a while damage it?
  17. I did it a while ago, and it was ok. Just a note FWIW, the Frankfort - Reitz road is practically rebuilt, so N3 - FF - Reitz - Bhm - Clarens is also an option of you are coming from Jhb / Pra etc side.
  18. No need to over complicate it as this stage - did you try water (only), and is it not working for you? At what intensity do you ride? (I can see why the sport nutrition and wellness industries makes gazillions...)
  19. 🤣🤣🤣 - Philip spends A LOT to maintain the route, like a couple of hundred-thousands over 7y already.
  20. Philip is still busy with his project for the community - a double lane!
  21. Runner’s World Editor’s Races Under Scrutiny Did she or didn't she?
  22. and many (majority?) are in denial re this simple truth and will try even more / different etc products next time, instead of training and to condition properly to deliver the required effort.... (in general)
