  1. I was disappointed in the Peyote . . .. did not last very long. Now run Vittora Barzo up front and Saguaro at the back. It is OK now.
  2. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/robot-bike-co-r160-first-look-2016.html http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb13539299/p5pb13539299.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb13539325/p5pb13539325.jpg
  3. "Yes it fun" "Yes, there is a place for it." "For some it is an "alternative, for those who can't". "Let people ride it if the want to. Who are you to comment" "I have ridden it, it nice, but I won't buy one" (Denial) To be honest . . . E-biking sounds a lot like masturbation. Rather keep it real. Power you own bicycle, or buy a MX bike and twist that throttle.
  4. Wait till a guy on a steel SS go past you on your Scalpel Si Black Inc. Perhaps then some will realise they crawled up their own ass and spent R195k on a bicycle . . .
  5. Wow!!! Super clean lines and nice paint/colour on those ride!! Awesome!! Some more pics please.
  6. Perhaps they should ride it at midday rather than in the darkness . . .
  7. Nice . . . But there is no end to the "new stuff" in the SRAM vs Shimano war these days. Hell . . . I'll just stick with my old SS . . . .. FFS
  8. Mmmm . . . sounds very nice already. Can't wait for some pics.
  9. Wow nice SS build!! And the colour scheme with the silver and black looks very good! Well done and enjoy.
  10. There is very many big guys out there with more weight on the front than the little weight your kid ads. No problem. If you ride the sort of ride that is "kid" friendly, I do not even bother with adjusting fork/shock pressure. I for one will not ride anything with the kid on the bike that remotely tax the suspension never mind bottoming it. I am to lazy. The next day when I take the child seat off again I do not want to adjust the suspension again. If it does bother you, increase the fork/shock pressure by a few psi to compensate for the added kid, and Bobs your uncle. (not that anybody would want uncle Bob as their uncle . . . )
  11. PS. Even if your'e tempted, refrain from single track or fast-tar-downhills when riding with you kid on the bike. Even if your 200% sure it is safe. Stay calmly on nice jeep track or so. They do not experience the speed and or shaking as you do. You do not want to scare the **** out of them. They can not tell you they scared and even if the do not cry, they just hang on in terror. Do not make the rides to long either. Stop while it is still fun.Not to long or to far. Max 3-to-5 km or max 30-40 minute. If in some nice veld (safe) surroundings, stop some times, let them get of and explore and walk around if they want to.Mine likes stopping at the dam and throwing stones. The ride is about them, not you. It is not your training ride with added weight!! And beware of winter. You are doing the work and build up heat. They are sitting there freezing (wind-chill) while you find it a nice ride. Same for sun.Again, most 11-to-20 struggle to tell you then they are cold or hot. If you drink, offer them the bottle as well or even more times. If they slobber the mouthpiece, just turn the cap off and drink your fill like as if out of a glass. Sorry from the rant. Just want to show points I did not think of in the beginning. Enjoy.
  12. I used one of these . . . Similar concept to the one Brandon78 advised. Work wonders on my carbon bike. Can not really scratch the bike. Put on and take off very quickly or switch between bikes. Works good on my carbon full suspension. Think it was R550 at Sportmans Warehouse. My kid rode on it from 12months till 2years.
  13. Now just take it along on retro rides for your "golden, nutritional, barley flavoured drinks"
  14. Perhaps this have been posted before . .
  15. Hail to the King. I am not worthy. . . . . Probably the cheapest bike in Epic . . Respect.
  16. Hey!!! I land like that a lot of times .. .. it saves my suspension and tires . .
  17. To all who is getting their kids riding . . . I need some advice please. My son is turning 2-years in a months time. He always rides with me on the star-seat thing I got at Sportsman Warehouse. December I stumbled onto a Sale at a Specialized shop and bought him this S-Works model. http://mikesbikes.com/images/library/zoom/b4e0_06_hot_hotwalk_boy_red_wht_blk_spzld_13_z.jpg Is Two years to early for this walking bike? Where to I start? Just leave him top figure out that he must kick himself to get momentum to stay upright or send him down the inclined driveway? It bothers me that this does not have brakes? He does have a helmet he always put on when we go riding, but where to I get full body armour for a 2-year old? He will appreciate any help.
  18. I thought the previous pics of the handle bar would suffice . I did not know the ugly stem also needs to be seen . . . . Tomorrow.
  19. Did about 75km this weekend with the new Answer 20/20 bar on the SS. 1ste ride took a bit getting use to the bar and at first I was not impressed. It felt odd. Halfway into the ride I realised that the was more due to the placement of the bar. It was because I used my old stem, but the previous bar had more rise to it. The result was that I was stretching to much with the combination of the old stem with the Answer 20/20 bar. So Saturday night I fitted a shorter stem that has more rise with the Answer 20/20. Did a nice long ride on Sunday and all was good and all was very comfortable. Hand position on the bar is now very neutral and I am very happy. So although the grips looked to be in about the same place as the old bars visually, I had to make adjustments to the stem to have good comfort with the Answer 20/20 bar. I'll have to get use to look of the new stem . . . . the bike looks a bit less aerodynamic. Looks like a Frankenstein. But that is just aesthetics. (I do have a bit of a back issue so I tend to prefer a more upright riding position)
  20. The Answer 20/20 is not flat, the ends have a 20deg rise or drop compared to the middle clamp section. I fitted mine to rise up, but most fit them turned around to drop down. Inverted. I hope this makes sense. (not good at explaining) Fitted rising up, like I did, can look a bit "dorky" . ..
  21. Have not tried mine much yet, but in all reviews I have read they said that it does not so good in DH compared to normal bars.
  22. I did not know you had these available in carbon. Bummer
  23. Post some pics again please, if you have time. I always like to see more El Mars .
  24. Yes, it is a bit to much . . . Feels like holding a gold member. That gold would have been better in black or brown . . . . But it is what is for now .. . . perhaps some scratches and wear-and-tear will sort them out.
  25. Bar and Grips fitted. The grip clamps are very very gold. Rode around the street in front of the house and the bar en grips felt good. Steering did not really feel much different at the moment. Will take it out for the long ride this weekend and see.
