  1. I also miss the CTCT MTB event, and the special combined medal for doing road and MTB.
  2. If looks could tell a story - this chap was in shock 🤕
  3. I’m in the black outfit with white helmet behind the chap in the yellow Scott kit. i get ptsd watching this video, the sound from those falls were hectic.
  4. @JM_NEL would you mind pulling that same graph you did for 99er please 🙏
  5. “If information was the answer, we’d all be millionaires with six packs” have you read or heard about the book called the 4hr body by Tim Ferris? It’s the highest signal book I’ve ever read, and as long as you ignore all the advice you get from friends/dr’s/YouTubers clearly on steroids, and just follow the advice in this book, you will succeed. It changed my life! 130kgs at the start, now fit and stable at 83kgs.
  6. Some brutal falls witnessed in 1A today - the bunch that fell down hospital bend apparently knocked a rider clean out, then a couple of sporadic falls, including one climbing up towards the Scarborough split. I’m going to sound old, but in all my Argus’s/CTCT’s never felt as vulnerable in the bunch as today.
  7. I’d even say just have the SMS on your phone they recd with race number. But a letter will be safer.
  8. On my way to registration now, selfie with my new propel inbound 🤣
  9. It’s my 10th CTCT on Sunday, I’m hoping it’ll be a sub 3 for the occasion. Weather is looking fast.
  10. My index from 99er last year was 22.98 and landed me in @ for CTCT. My index from 99er this year was 23.49 and landed me in 1A for CTCT this year. I had the same beta to the winner for both 99er events. (26min). I am not upset, 1A will definitely be too much for me up to hospital bend and don’t want to wait 5 min for the next group, likely to aim for 1c/1d where I’ve had my most enjoyable CTCTs.
  11. Alot to be said about bike setup on a dual sus long before bike weight will make a difference. Incorrectly calibrated and inflated suspension, tire inflation, seat post height, seat position. And bike maintenance too: spoke tension, shock oil, state of tires for grip etc etc And experience too: how willing is the rider to go fast down a trail, or sit on the wheel of a marathon rider cruising through jeep track at 40kmh without seeing the trail ahead. Id say the same 65kg inside an 80kg body would easily loose endurance and efficiency on these three aspects long before their own and the bikes weight makes a difference. *Apologies, i realise this is off topic, somehow relevant.
  12. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/gravel-bikes/624890/gravel-bike If you can negotiate and raise your budget a tad, this bike will keep you happy for a longtime.
  13. i was watching this ad for the last couple of days before --> https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/624393/s-works-epic after --> https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/560962/s-works-epic-l-12spd-axs-carbonwheels-sidsl At least bikegarage left the power meter installed, and at face value, R70k out and R75k in is not a crazy markup. Im sure the price traded up front was probs closer to R50k, but that wouldve been any hubbers chance to take.
  14. Strongs Dewald - this must be a sickening feeling
  15. My FTP when im training by myself, convincing myself to be real, and to keep it sustainable and all that k*k the coaches tell you (n - 10%) 🤠 My FTP when im racing, and despite all pre-conceived realisms, still chase a pace i know i cant maintain, but ill be damned (ego) if im dropped in the first 40km. (n + 30%) 🥵 My FTP in the week that follows, licking my wounds, all the war stories told, convincing myself to jump back into the training program (n x 0) 😔
  16. Just to play devils advocate, the wholesale traders do bring a "base" liquidity to the classified space which builds momentum for sales upstream. I would not like to see them leave this space. It goes without saying that its important to have your ducks in a row to catch the good deals.
  17. The ngeco uses a difficult to find and expensive CR2450N button battery, that easily does >2000km. You can use cheap CR2032 cells, but they aren’t the right spec and don’t last. Just my experience.

    [EVENT] Tour de PPA

i felt exactly the same - my wahoo was lighting up red LED's for the first 30-40km, and started getting stuck in my head. Hung on for a while later before joining a splinter from Group B which bunched up again with some C-Riders, i then got dropped again at around 70km (Philledelphia i think) and TT'd it home.

I wish that was the case - this is still the 2020 model - as difficult to source back then as it is now @Giant Bicycles South Africa
