  4. VG yesterday..... First time in ages I've ridden there in the afternoon.... it was roastin'!!!!! as were the trails AS USUAL!!! If you own a mountain bike and you live in Gauteng and you don't ride VG at LEAST once a month... sell your bike...
  5. Sies! I haven't been to VG in a month..... Major withdrawals ( ps Merry Merry RnR)
  6. Sorry to hear dude... All the best for Wednesday and the recovery
  7. Place is stunning! trails are rather testing , especially if you're a nutter like RocknRolla that does it on his SS But there's so much potential there, especially through the forest, hope they add more ST.
  8. That's a pretty very challenging ride that!! especially considering you're gearless
  9. Lucky indeed! But Spez's service was phenomenal.. bike went in to my LBS on the Monday and before the end of the week, everything was sorted. The haters can slate them all they like, but imo they're growing at the rate they are not just because the bikes are exceptional, but their service is too!
  10. Your eyes do not deceive you... it is a 2016 indeed. long story short, had an issue with my previous frame. Spez Christmassed me with a 2016 replacement. I then opted to also take the Revelation fork and Command Post and go 1x10 The rest is from my old bike... Oh ..and I managed to get my hands on a set of Saint brakes... bike was awesome before... now, it's even better!
  11. After being off the bike for 2 weeks (sick) I should've eased back in.... not quite what happened! I haven't been to Kings Kloof in years... we "only" did 23km... but they were not easy! Everything was work, the ups and the downs! I made good use of my newly acquired dropper post.... It's like a lost world in that place! so beautiful and so , SO much potential! LOVE the foresty sections
  12. These are my favs for the year so far... All taken on my now defunct iPhone 5
  13. Thanks Karl.. Really appreciate the advice... However ... Saturation...Dodge...Burn....Feathering.... I'll have to go google the terms .. Zero knowledge when it comes to photography jargon. I just get an idea in my head of something I'd like to try (as in the baby bump/sunset one) or see something that I just try capture an image of as I'm seeing it (the beach/palm tree/sea one) point my iPhone 5, take the pic, use a filter, slap a thin black border on it... and that's it.
  14. Thanks BSG... We went to Mauritius ...
  15. So... I went away for a week. I took a couple pics I thought I'd share... and my fav of the short vacances My little lady and her little(for now) baby bump
  16. Back in the saddle for the first time since 94.7.. (Spent a week lying on a pool side lounger drinking beer ) Has an insanely fun ride at VG this morning... trails are packed, fast and have more flow more than beer taps at the Oktoberfest! didn't get round to taking any decent pics, but had to share this... the drought situation is really bad. #rainmustfall this was taken this morning same spot a couple months back in winter
  17. went for a little spin around Jozi with a couple thousand other cyclists yesterday
  18. Happy Happy RnR... I'd say hope you have a great day... but you rode your bike , so I know you did!
  19. My computer just went haywire because of the cuteness overload
  20. Wish I could get him used to water but he won't go near the stuff other than to drink
  21. As we all very well know this is what's happening at the moment So even though Django's not the hairiest little guy, I had him shaved when he went in for a bath yesterday hoping it might help... I can't tell if it's made a difference because he always has this massive smile! #lovethisface
  22. here's the fit on an actual person...(well, at least I like to think of myself as one )
  23. Yesterday... Home to Avianto then part of the Cradle MTB loop... (I've never seen so many people on bikes in the Cradle, assuming a lot were cramming for next week ) Back to my ride...WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING it was!! sky was SO BLUE!! (but this no rain business is a really bad ) My mates along Phambili Then a chilled commute to work this morning (just wanted to carry on riding and give my boss the middle finger ... but I don't like being flipped off ) Like BrandonF said, it's such a privilege we have to be able to do what we do!
