  1. Entered this morning just after 10, no idea how busy it's been or how many entries sold..but wasn't going to take any chances this morning! Now,just to decide on a costume!
  2. yeah the parking was a bit of an issue but all school fees imo. the setting is absolutely beautiful and the trails are a great workout... never knew they had climbs that intense. also had a herd of buck ( i have no idea what kind, don't know these things) ala Buck Norris style jumping the trail in front of us just before that last huge uphill. so it was an entertaining morning.
  3. worth it! anything the LC does is awesome!

  6. Thanks j_a_n and thanks for introducing me to the awesomeness of SS'ing!
  7. Thanks dude! Huge thumbs up to you and your perseverance!
  8. for sure... hopefully on my road SS project I've been dreaming about.... now just to convince my mates to sort out SS for themselves!
  9. you guys are machines! My first 94.7 and first event on my SS, 4h20 on knobblies & 32/16
  10. Yip yip ..that was me .. probably wouldn't've been able to reply as i was more then likely panting more
  11. Thank you
  12. Thanks
  13. I'm glad I got better in time... I had a great time, what an awesome vibe and the support from the spectators was amazing! I'll definitely be back next year! Hopefully on a road singlespeed thanks again to all
  14. Sorry to hear that.. Ditto to the Speedy recovery..
  15. Ok He-Man
  16. Thanks to you guys for all your advice and input.... I've just come back from the doc and been given the all clear. he had an ECG done on me this morning and said I have a brilliant heart... told him it's for living not for loving. my week comprised of the following medication:- 1 Corenza C and 1 Acc 200 every morning and night lots of green tea a 5ml intragam shot (i think this makes up for 50% of the recovery) 2 B12 shots(one on Tuesday and one yesterday) another B-something shot today Andolex for my throat and some vicks cough syrup which i stopped using on wednesday because i felt it was forcing the cough too much. I do feel tons better, and I have taken everyone's "don't do it advice" into consideration but i'm going to take it real easy ... I'll use every downhill to recover (and also because i won't have any gear to pedal down ) Good luck to you all and have a super FUNtastic time.
  17. will do
  18. on a different note... would it be faux pas to not wear baggies on a SS? can't imagine that distance without decent padding..
  19. Thanks for the advice and support guys... divernick is right, it's the right thing to do.. or rather not to do ... but I've really been looking forward to it so much.... I think I'm going to do as Smolster said, see how I'm feeling by Sat and judge from there...
  20. I've never done the 94.7 Road event, because quite frankly I felt I'd be robbing myself of MTB'ing time... However, this year i was introduced to the world of SingleSpeeds and landed up converting my old hardtail. And I've been having an absolute blast on it, to the point where i decided I'd like to attempt the 94.7 on it.... and then what happens on Monday ...... even in this heat and with major preventative measures in place ()... Runny nose, sore throat, congestion, coughing (lungs feel like they're lined with sandpaper)   WHY NOW!!!!???? I haven't planned on a specific time or anything like that, just to be able to do it on my SS and experience the famous vibe of the event.... Corenza C, ACC200, cough syrups, Andolex, a Vit B12 injection(yesterday and another this Friday) and as much fluid as possible.. will it be enough Am I fooling myself? will I be doing more harm (to my body) then good(to my cycling addiction) if I go ahead with this?
  21. thanks Dirtbreath, done Mankele before and it is AMAZING! the ride down from the tower back to the camp is just awesome! want somewhere at the coast though
  22. Thanks Iron, I'm so excited by the feedback I want to go NOW!!!
