  1. There's a group that hosts a basic mechanic course in cape town. Not 100% sure but think they are link to TMBC or knows someone there... Not a lot of help I know but if I find the info I'll send it. Otherwise just read up a bit, watch youtube clips and like the others said, use logic(otherwise use the beer courage!)
  2. Reply just received...: Hi Jacques These are not irregularities but fees we are entitled to charge. If you go to www.championchip.co.za and click on the Mamusa icon. This will bring up the page with all the race details. scroll down the left hand side you will see a box marked conditions and if you click on "Click here" all is explained there. Kind regards Sue
  3. Also sent them a mail just now, let's see what they answer..
  4. The sad part is the person that stole it probably do not even know the value of the bike( be it monetary or sentimental).. Really hope you are able to retrieve it somehow!!
  5. Bergtrol, that dog sure knows how to keep his line
  6. I'd have to go with a 650b, 140mm travel dual sus with decent groupset (note:does not mean XTR all the way, XT will do fine and keep if affordable). If you can back this up with decently priced 650b tyres then in my opinion you'll be covering a major gap in the market. Hope you guys make the correct predictions and good luck for 2014!
  7. Chris, I think you need to leave another clue as to what this post is about for us hungry ones here today...
  8. There in the same complex as the Spiros hardware shop(diagonally across actually), where the old slug is now a days:-)
  9. Last I heard yes, He's still the owner and actively involved on the workshop side.
  10. I'll second you on Cyclefunatics awesome experience! EVERYTIME I go there I've walked out satisfied. They always phone me before doing major work/repairs and will source whatever I need or want(to certain limitations obviously). We as the cycling community are seriously benefiting from all the shops that have started to up the quality of service(those that have actually tried!).
  11. My size, Large(uhgm, clothes) and size 10 shoe
  12. Size 8/10 dress and 32B-C.. BUT will need more as SIR Maxxis said earlier..
  13. I'm in the Ville so will pop around bit later - Thanks!
  14. As the heading explains.. Can't seem to find Fox gloves in CPT area. I'm looking for the more rugged glove similar to MX gloves. I'll even take the MX gloves. I've had a look at WOA and most shops but to no avail. Any tip offs will be appreciated!!
  15. If you make any head way please let me know as I would really like to either join you or do a solo ride like this. I know it would be pointless is everybody started doing this but it's been on my mind for a few years now!
  16. Dude, in how many locations are you building this bike?? One in the lounge, then bike shop, then workshop. I'm envious of your available work spaces! Oh, and the bike is looking awesome so far! Enjoy the build up!
  17. Everyone learns some or other time what mountain biking can(not always should) cost you. I did my first service on Fox RL fork myself and it came out to basically less than half price. The following service I had done at Cyclefunatics (they trued both wheels, replaced some cabling, bled the brakes plus general check up) - although it cost me slightly more I have to admit the bike I got back was basically brand spanking new and the shock felt like butter. Sometimes it's worth it to have someone with experience work on the bike as long as they bill you fairly, which the did in my case.
  18. We'll be there! Also popping through to Uniondale from Knysna the morning though due to accomodation being such a beetch.
  19. The hub, where all you questions are answered! Got to love this place
  20. Vang net n goeie "jy weet wat" dan behoort jy onder die limiet te wees Ek het self aan daai rims gedink maar sit huidiglik op 88kg so gaan heel moontlik die goed vermorsel soos ek ry!
  21. Think he's quite well known in journo circles seeing that he's done some good articles... If someone can help with decreasing bicycle theft in any way I feel we should rather support him(regardless of the manner he or she adresses anyone) http://www.iol.co.za/news/special-features/nelson-mandela/crucial-evidence-against-zuma-exposed-1.1437442#.UMXLm-RJOAg http://capeargus.newspaperdirect.com/epaper/viewer.aspx
  22. Shared the FB post on mine, best of luck with the recovery!
  23. Try Cycle Factory Montague gardens - always good service and if they do not stock the part you're looking for they make a plan to get it for you asap!
  24. Went to the chemist last night and got my first injection(one down two to go). Think the placebo effect is jumping in
  25. Thanks guys, will pop to the chemist and see what they can do for me. I'd rather they stiek me than me doing it myself
