  1. There is a 2.25" Nobby Nic Snake Skin on the catalog. I have no idea who may have them in stock though. If you dont want to go that wide, look at the Conti range. Mountain, X or Race King Protection. They are 2.0", I think.
  2. Some people might be out there for that long, so perhaps bananas are a good suggestion...
  3. I saw a few of these @ the LBS yesterday. They look great! Ja, slap some Racing Ralph Snake Skins on with your saddle & pedals of choice and you have a nice machine. I noticed that it even has space for some dropper seatpost cables under the top tube. Before you leave the shop though, check the cable that runs through the down tube doesn't rattle. It was the only thing the sales guy pointed out to me.
  4. I doubt the hard tail vs full suss had anything to do with your sore knees It was more likely the geometry difference between the two frames.
  5. costume build = pimping
  6. I have dealt with Paul and Marc via email and got what I needed. Their renovations are mostly complete, so they should be back up to speed again. But I will say that they don't spend much time or resource on the website. Its clearly not a priority...
  7. I have ZTR Arch EX rims on Hope Pro II Evo hubs with Pillar DB spokes and brass nipples. I got them for all the reasons you stated, but retrospectively should have got the Arch EX wheelset as it would have been 170g lighter. (if that's of any concern to you...). Easy on the pocket is also relative... I also got Easton EC70 wide flat carbon bars (680mm) from Wiggle.co.uk. Seeing as I already had a Thomson seatpost, I got a Thomson stem to match. And then carried on with a Thomson topcap and seatpost clamp. When the Thomson carbon bars come out, I will probably drool over them until I break and order a pair.
  8. What you eat may depend on how fast you are riding. The fast teams probably chew theri bar tape and suck the odd gel. Take a varied menu if you plan on being out there a bit longer than 5 1/2 hours Your usual energy drinks, with some plain water, coke and or energade in the cooler box. Your usual energy bars along with peanut butter sandwhiches, muffins, bananas, nuts, fruit dainties Leave space for beers and a burger at the finish.
  9. Its got a few bumps in it...
  10. They are getting closer: http://www.bikerumor.com/2012/10/08/first-look-thomson-cyclocross-all-mountain-dh-handlebars-unboxed-weighed/
  11. Nice! That was a good opportunity for an upgrade When life gives you lemons, make lemonade (or bring out the tequila!) Here is a dumb question: is your frame's dropout the replaceable type? looking at your pictures, it looked like it was bonded to the frame and not screwed on...
  12. I finished the book last night. It made for interesting reading. He outlines that the key to US Postal's success was their doctors and tight team policy & systems. No Postie was bust (except for LA in 2001) and all the Posties that left were eventually bust when they were on other teams. Most likely because the lack of skill/professionalism by the team's doctors. (Vaugthters jokes that bags were probably left in the sun while the Dr was having a glass of wine) It was also interesting to read that Landis said that LA would phone UCI from time to time and warn them of his competitors possible doping habits if they got too good. That reinforces the idea that he was close enough to Hein & UCI to have his positive results swept under the carpet.
  13. Woo Hoo! Is that the final piece of the puzzle? Let the build begin!
  14. That's what the marketing stuff says about the road bikes, but I am wondering more why one would make a full suspension mountain bike frame out of titanium.
  15. Would a dual suspension frame made from titanium feel any different to an equivalent aluminium frame?
  16. Is it possible that this sudden spike in crime @ Tokai a result of the increase in securty and patrols on the Table Mountain side? Tokai is a real soft target without security.
  17. That doesn't bode too well for Kimmage. Although he will be there to fight... Is Tyler next then?
  18. For all you Jagwire fans (I know it doesn't match this bike, but I think its pretty cool) From: http://www.bikerumor.com/2012/10/02/interbike-2012-jagwires-sweet-silver-cable-housing/
  19. I don't have a Nespresso machine (yet), but I bought 6 boxes for when we go on holiday.
  20. That's a pretty good combination. Maximises value for money and performance
  21. Oooh! what a nice box of goodies! You would be happier if you had the bleeding frame to hang all those bits onto!
  22. Ah man! Some changes on our server/network @ work dont allow me to see the pics that gummi posts
  23. So does that mean that CWC is off the hook?
  24. Easton EC90 is my guess Edit: Pic added
  25. If they do that, they also have to give each of them a decent team. Their TdF squad was rediculously strong compared to the Vuelta squad they sent to look after Froome.
